    Official Clevo P150HM1/P170HM1 thread

Hmm, interesting, I hadn't realized there were many people using OSX on the Clevo P150HM... I have an Eurocom Racer which is a customized/rebadged P150HM, and so far I have been unsuccessful at installing 10.6 on it (see viewtopic.php?f=34&t=53170 ). I don't have 10.7 though :( Had bought 10.6...

Eurocom Racer (HM150), almost there... not quite

Still no luck. Turns out the kernel panics were probably due to a dirty DVD as they went away after I wiped them off. :) So I started again from scratch: -booted iBoot legacy -switched CDs, F5, boot install DVD -install vanilla 10.6 -install UpdateHelper, reboot -use iBoot legacy to get back...

Eurocom Racer (HM150), almost there... not quite

Hmm I guess something's really wrong, because: -I tried booting the new installation with iBoot legacy, it hangs and never finishes -I tried wiping off the disk and reinstalling, and I can't even do that. The same method that worked before (boot from iBoot legacy, switch with install DVD+F5...

Eurocom Racer (HM150), almost there... not quite

I just got a new custom gaming laptop, and installed (among others) OSX 10.6 on it. It almost worked, but... see below. Specs: sandy bridge cpu i7/2670qm (4c/8h, 2.2GHz) 4GB ram video: Radeon 6970m discrete video with 2GB vram (chipset based on the desktop 6850) hdd: the one I installed OSX on...

    GA-H67A-UD3H-B3 build

I have the same motherboard. It has sometimes some really weird power-on behavior, with not POSTing until after I reset it 2-3 times, or sometimes I have to turn the power off completely and start again. But after it starts it will keep going without any of your issues. Win7 and Linux work...

Stock Sandy Bridge cooler noise level

Because my current system is a stopgap until Z68 motherboards come along... ;) See above.

Stock Sandy Bridge cooler noise level

Haven't even unpacked the stock cooler when I built my system. I have this on the CPU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6835181012 It's big but it cools like a dream and you can't hear a thing, even when I have the case open for adjustments. CPU temps under load, not overclocked...

Check in: Do you have to lower your multiplier or not?

Bios is F1. I haven't seen any reason to upgrade to the latest (F2) since it's unclear to me what was changed (if anything). They list no description.

Check in: Do you have to lower your multiplier or not?

Or maybe it's because this motherboard has a regular Award BIOS, not EFI. Who knows.

    Yes, from Bridgehelper2

Check in: Do you have to lower your multiplier or not?

On this board you can't adjust turbo multipliers, you can just enable them or not. They're fixed at 38, 36, 36 and 35. Still between 33 and 38 I should see at least a small difference, but the score stays exactly the same at 10030. (edit) also when I mess with the bus clock for instance...

[solved] - no sound and boot fail after ALC8xxHDA update

Sorry for posting in a [solved] thread, but I thought my experience adds to the discussion. I have a system grossly identical to keysdude's (same motherboard, slightly different CPU and video). The audio chip is ALC889 - confirmed it visually on the mobo, can post pictures if you want. I was...

Check in: Do you have to lower your multiplier or not?

I was able to actually boot with 33x and turbo enabled (the first time I did and it froze must have been a freak as it now does it on a regular basis) but like him it doesn't look like turbo is doing a damn thing... geekbench 10030. I did disable then EIST, and it doesn't make a difference...

Check in: Do you have to lower your multiplier or not?

Nope. See my system <- Gigabyte mobo, currently running OSX 10.6.7 at 33x, turbo disabled. With 34x it crashes at the beginning of the boot sequence. With 33x and turbo enabled it boots all the way to the desktop then the system becomes unresponsive. Mouse not moving, keyboard not working etc...
