@tedyun There are three framebuffers defined in AMDRadeonX6000Framebuffer.kext:
It would have been guess work if not for this post: https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/asus-z690-proart-creator-wifi-thunderbolt-4-i7-12700k-amd-rx-6800-xt.318311/post-2307877
I am not entirely sure, but 6900 XT...
I have created a SSDT which forces my RX 6800 XT to use the Belknap framebuffer. This brings the Metal score back to normal (from 30k to 160k). HEIC glitch remains.
I have attached the basic idea as aml, but you have to specify the correct ACPI path.
My XFX Merc 319 RX 6800 XT has Device ID 0x73BF, works great on macOS and the card itself next to silent when fully loaded. Recommended - if you can find one.
@oli.mathieu Just like before (meaning with the "old" 5700 XT and 11.2) it's at 6016 x 3384 while looking like 3008 x 1692 @ 60.00Hz on my 4K display. I just discovered that when I zoom in (Accessibility -> Zoom) with Ctrl the mouse cursor turns to the normal size relative to the UI.
Should...
The only problem I have is the size of the mouse cursor when using HiDPI modes other than 2:1. It's way too big, but besides that, everything works flawlessly. Also, I just discovered a refreshingly new use case: WoW in 8K. I strongly believe and can not think otherwise, that's what Apple had in...
You never were until now. Maybe stop implicitly calling random people you don't know stupid would be a good start for a moderator. But I have a feeling that you can't resist, that's why this discussion ends here. I appreciate your opinions, but your attitude in this thread is not my cup of tea...
I feel it is totally unnecessary to "inform" people from the high horse who have been hopeful about the 6000 series drivers that no Mac has such chip built in. This is redundant because it is obvious.
@rustEswan It really depends on what you are injecting. Yes, most of the time you inject purely cosmetic stuff. But you can also inject properties that alter stuff in a more serious way. For example you can attach informations to your GPU that will let macOS use a different framebuffer:
Do you know what you changed? The mainboard still reports Error 97 (or a different error code prior to the POST screen). It happens every second reboot. What's left then is a non-blinking cursor (as seen in the picture) and the only salvation is a complete power cycle.
