[Guide] Mountain Lion Installation for Asus Vivobook S200, X202, S400...

Since I installed 10.8.5, my battery indicator is not working anymore. I think we need to undo some of the DSDT edits we made earlier. This was hinted at before in this thread, but now that we have the same in ML I think we can speak about it :D.

I haven't looked at this thread for some time. Good to hear that you found a possible fix for our sleep issue. I'm gonna try it after I put my notebook to "sleep" and had the battery drain over night, annoying. I think I had this issue before I patched the bios, that's why I tried the bios patch...

Try disabling fast boot for a while untill you have sleep issues (or not in which case you can wait forever ).

I haven't heard of anyone else who has this problem, but us. Can you check your bios settings for: - Fast boot (disabled) - Launch CSM (disabled), and - Graphics memory (64 Mb)? I changed them and I think my sleep issues are gone, although I am not 100% sure. My other guess would be...

Slow shutdown times are an issue on real macs as well. There are a few deamons which prevent shutdown, untill they eventually timeout. You can read this thread for a workaround (second post, I haven't tried the app from the first post): http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=1589712...

You will need kexts for (at least) - touchpad - ethernet - audio - wifi - usb3 I got lid sleep working as well now. I also made a patch which can be used with MaciASL. I also needed to tick some of the DSDT fixes in Clover (not sure which ones, I just ticked them all, not necessary with...

I think I made some progress with a patched AppleHDA. I used the guide at http://forum.osxlatitude.com/index.php?/topic/1946-complete-applehda-patching-guide/ to create a Layout28.xml and a Platforms.xml suited for our version of ALC269. This turned out to be slightly different to the one used...

Are you sure you attached the correct one? Because in that one I don't see anything about p-states, or even cpu's. Can you extract SSDT's with Ubuntu as well? I have it on a partition on my laptop.

Check the following: ioreg | grep X86Platform If that doesn't show anything, you are probably using ACPI_SMC_PlatformPlugin.kext and you don't have Ivybridge PM. I haven't been able to get it working without SSDT. It would be nice if you could get it to work with just Clover generated states...

The script is hidden inside the app. You can find it if you navigate into the app (which is just a directory). But you can also just run the app. Read the instructions. By default it sets the lowest frequency to 1200 mhz. I am not sure why that is, but you can change it if you open de SSDT...

I attached my SSDT. I used the script in this post to generate my SSDT, so you can also make your own: http://www.tonymacx86.com/ssdt/86906-ssdt-generation-script-ivybridge-pm.html#post536897 You can adjust the lowest P-state by changing the value of APLF in the SSDT. When using MSRDumper, I...

I tried the DSDT patch and it works! I now have a working battery manager with an unpatched AppleACPIPlatform.kext. That is, I see a battery percentage in the statusbar. First I tried to make my own patch, but that didn't work. Your patch is a lot more complex. Thanks! Next stop: AppleHDA

Voodoobattery requires an old AppleACPIPlatform. Right now I am using the stock Apple AppleACPIPlatform. Therefore I have no battery manager. AppleSmartBatteryManager can work with the latest AppleACPIPlatform but this requires DSDT edits. So the goal is to use AppleSmartBatteryManager with an...

VoodooBattery.kext depends on an old version of AppleACPIPlatform.kext. Make sure you have that one (latest/stock version is OK). To get wireless working on our laptops you need a different version of AirPportAtheros40.kext. This one you can put in /S/L/E or in...

I finally managed to change GFX0 to IGPU in DSDT and actually see this in IOregExp. It turned out I wasn't using my edited DSDT after all, in fact I can't boot with it! I still don't know why this is, because it is patched by Clover itself. When I use an clean DSDT extracted with MaciASL...
