no i never removed the firewire just the appleHDA.kext and made sure i never installed the enabler for the no dsdt version as well, hope that helps you out

rancherpete for q2 it is an option that you pick in multibeast, for q3 as far as I was aware the ssdt was needed for sandy bridge to work properly, I never installed it on mine and its working fine and for q4 you may want to edit that file before you use it I see from the info under your user ID...

I removed all the audio kexts off the computer, I only had the appleHDA.kext on there because I installed the user DSDT that had the audio edits in it. I then downloaded the interim 898 kext on the first page and used kext beast to install it restarted the pc and had audio

The hx has modular cabling for power to the drives and extra video card power cables, the only cables that are hard wired in are the 24 pin atx, the 8 pin cpu and 2x video 8 pins from memory
