I always buy RAM listed in the QVL and have never had an issue with RAM except for a defective stick. Swapped that out with the same model and it fixed the problem. I also always buy a full set. If I want 64GB, I buy a 64GB set, not 2 32GB sets.
Oh I misunderstood what the problem is. My monitor does not have speakers, but I connected some to the audio out jack on it to test. It does have bad audio. Not so much scratchy, but poppy and also cuts out. I did have less issues with the audio when I changed the setting in Audio MIDI from...
I'm listening to music out of the Radeon VII HDMI to a Denon receiver right now and it sounds great. No scratchy audio at all. My Radeon VII is a Sapphire, specifically this one: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07N3F3QBG/?tag=tonymacx86com-20 I don't know if that would make a difference.
I actually have not tried it. I use DP for my monitors and 3.5mm audio for speakers as well as HDMI out of a Decklink card. I’ll see if I can try it out and let you know.
Yes, but I got both versions from that thread. The one that didn’t work was 2.7-something or other. Both folders were named with “Catalina” after decompressing.
I even tried an old combo SSDT that kgp created for the Prime X299 Deluxe and that would not work under Clover or OpenCore anymore. Did something change where there's a limit to the size of an SSDT or something?
The OpenCore developers have said repeatedly to not put ACPI patches in the config.plist. Try downloading my EFI again. There was an issue, but it should be good now and you won't have to deal with removing the ACPI patches yourself.
So I'm trying to clean up my EFI by combining several separate SSDTs for the mainboard into one complete SSDT. When I do this it does not work for some reason. If I have the DTGP SSDT and add entries for _SB_.PC00.CAVS and _SB_.PC00.PMC1 for example, it works. As soon as I add anything beyond...
Yeah I was trying to combine everything into one. Doesn't seem to work. I split it back out again. My EFI has been updated on the previous post. https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/x299-open-core-support.282158/post-1996500
With the latest 3 versions of Clover I began getting the prohibited signal about 75% of the time when the Apple logo is supposed to appear at startup. It was a little less often with the latest version of Clover, but still annoyingly too often. And I know it’s a Clover issue because updating...
Honestly, I don't know. It was provided to me by @Ellybz. Maybe it's not needed? I know I didn't have it when using Clover and everything worked really well. Everything still works really well with it.
EDIT 8/20/2019: Updated with a new SSDT for CPU Plugin Type power management and a couple other changes.
Here is an EFI for Asus Prime X299 Deluxe with OpenCore 0.0.4.
Notes:
1. If you don't have an i9-7900X don't forget to modify TSCAdjustReset.kext for your CPU. You may also need a...
