Bumping with interest for this since I do CUDA and rely on bumblebee. Using bumblebee in debian renders a part of the screen using the discrete GPU and the rest using the integrated GPU (try otpirun glxgears). As I understand you mean that the MacBooks switch the whole screen? How come they have...
Wow nice way of solving that. I've solved it just applying the
[sys] RTC Fix
when patching to the DSDT and a registry fix for windows creating a key RTC_TIME_IS_UNIVERSAL=1 or the like, see https://superuser.com/questions/975717/does-windows-10-support-utc-as-bios-time
but your solution is...
Fine tuning now. Backlight level survives around reboots (I have it working with native nvram, emuvariableefi didn't save brightness values when rebooting) but when computer sleeps and wakes up again I get the same value from boot time.
Question: What can cause brightness level to survive...
Dude, I had the same problem, and after a lot of :banghead: the problem was: BIOS was not setup correctly. So check your bios config, read the bios part of the guide, and make sure you disable legacy boot stuff. ;)
I don't know about HO, C and AD. The rest works like a charm *except* the touchpad which has bad kexts and is somewhat quirky. I think the risk of wifi not working in future versions is below 0.1%. And yes, it works well.
tl,dr: I'd buy it again :)
Just a tip if you were struggling with brightness:
check if you have the following chunk in config.plist/KernelAndKextPatches/KextsToPatch
<string>change F%uT%04x to F%uTxxxx in AppleBacklightInjector.kext (credit RehabMan)</string>
Hi I follow your guide to the millimeter but I'm only able to boot with "InjectKexts"=Yes in config.plist. When I set it to "Detect" it hangs waiting for root device.
What could be causing this behavior?
Hi, I've successfully updated to from older 10.12.1 to 10.12.5, but now I've lost the brightness slider. I see the nice writeup https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/guide-laptop-backlight-control-using-applebacklightinjector-kext.218222/ but are you guys getting the slider or shall we follow the...
Hi @jcarcinogen I'm updating to 10.12.5 ... I've seen you are using VoodooPS2deamon from @RehabMan now. I was using the ApplePS2SmartTouchPad.kext but as I see you removed it in favor of VoodooPS2deamon..
Does it support the Elan touchpad better than ApplePS2SmartTouchPad.kext?
