Hi Casey. Yes, of course. It's always the Fenvi WiFi card. But I need it!.
The only solution that worked for me in the past was the SSDT-GPRW.aml patch.
In that way, the computer only wakes from sleep with the power button, but it's OK for me.
But now, it doesn't work with Big Sur.
I have to...
I've done it several times, and always was OK. I enabled the Patch.
The only difference is the way of adding the file itself: I copied always manually to OC/ACPI folder, and never added the entry:
Add an entry for it using OpenCore Configurator --> ACPI --> "+" button
I have just updated to Opencore 0.6.3 and updated to Big Sur.
All is OK!!
But the sleep problem has come again.
I used the method explained here:
But it doesn't...
I have just updated the BIOS to F9i, but the Sleep problem persists.
Consolidated List of Sleep Aids for Gigabyte Z390 Designare
There are solutions for Clover based systems:
Are those solutions suitable for an OpenCore 0.6.2 system??
In my case, with F9i BIOS I have the...
I followed that mini-guide to successfully upgrade to 0.6.2:
OpenCore 0.6.2 EFI for Z390 Designare
But still the sleep doesn't work. It re-starts.
I have done also this:
Disable Wake from USB (Wake only with Power Button)
That solution was OK in my clover configuration and the...
Since some days I have the sleep/reboot problem again with my Designare Z390.
I have Catalina last update, with OpenCore 0.6.0.
I've seen that there is an Opencore 0.6.2 and 0.6.3.
My problem is that I'm not sure how to update Opencore to a newer version!.
I have downloaded...
Just for updating:
Finally I changed the MQUPIN Fenvi T919 for a new just arrived original Fenvi T919 (no MQUPIN).
The result is the same.
It doesn't go to Sleep.
The offending USB Fenvi connection makes the computer wakeup immediately.
So I keep on the tutorial for disabling waking up...
I tried this morning switching to OpenCore, from my actual Clover configuration.
The sleep/wake issue is still there.
I followed the instructions of this guide in relation to my sleep/wake problem, and it works!
Thx again, @brousseau6933!
At the ACPI section, I...
Thinking on it, I had a problem with my previous back up copy in relation to the Apple ID.
Do I need any precaution in relation to this?
I suppose I'll need to annotate the serial number used in clover, etc, and using the same in OC?
I'm now very happy with my system.
Catalina installed on a 1T Crucial sata SSD, fresh installation with Clover, and two 2.5 HDD.
But I wanted to add a 1T M.2 ssd as main disc, and letting the Crucial SATA as a back up disc.
I have just ordered this one...
I installed a second 250gb SSD as back up of the system. Before changing anything to EFI at the main SSD, I updated the info, so in case of a disaster, I simply copy the backed up EFI.
But my mail SSD is growing s lot (it's 1Tb) , so I decided to buy a NVME 1Tb drive to place it as...
@brousseau6933, Thx a lot!!
It works for me!!
At least my first tries, I force going to Sleep and hopefully all fans and lights go OFF!
For waking up, as expected, only works the power button, but it's not a main concern!
I have just ordered another wifi card, a true Fenvi T919 (not the MQUPIN...
Thank you @CaseySJ
it’s not available by the moment. I’ll look for it in other countries.
That’s my first Hackintosh.
In some months I’ll try to update to Big Sur.
Do you think it should be possible with that equipment (z390 designare etc)?
in that case, I’ve read I need OC instead of...
