Solved > Windows Partition unavailable after Catalina Update

This thread can be closed. As a solution I copied all files that I needed off my Windows SSD and then reinstalled Windows completely. As mentioned above I disconnected my Mac OS Drive for safety. Everything works well now. Thanks for the big help to everyone here!!! I'll have a drink on you...

Solved > Windows Partition unavailable after Catalina Update

I created a bootable Windows 10 USB Stick and tried the repair function. The system then says it cannot repair anything :( At the moment I have 2 SSDs. One with Mac OS and one with this broken Windows. Instead of repairing the windows SSD I could also reinstall it, right? Or is it easier to...

Solved > Windows Partition unavailable after Catalina Update

@UtterDisbelief Not sure if it helps but in Mac OS I can see the content of my windows drive. Could the data be on the drive somewhere? Or could I somehow rename the drive there and enable the owner?

Solved > Windows Partition unavailable after Catalina Update

@UtterDisbelief I used the EFI Mounter v3.1 and mounted all disks but there is no "Microsoft" folder. Not in the root folder nor in one of the subfolders. Is it possible to get this folder from someone in the forum or does that technically not work?

Solved > Windows Partition unavailable after Catalina Update

@trs96 Thanks for the info but I cannot boot Windows. I can only boot Mac OS. The point where I can start the command line tool is not reachable for me at the moment. @UtterDisbelief A very good suggestion indeed. I can see the Windows Partition in the BIOS. I selected it but then UEFI booted...

@Going Bald Can you tell me how to do this? I cannot run an .exe File on Mac OS, do I?

Solved > Windows Partition unavailable after Catalina Update

Hi, I recently updated my Hackintosh from El Capitan to Catalina. Mac OS runs fine but my partition of Windows is not bootable anymore. I have Windows installed on a separate SD (Samsung Evo). I can still see the partition i.e. in Disk Utility (see the screenshot). The partition lost its name...

Ok thanks so far. You already saved my life once :)

Upgrading from HighSierra to Catalina failed - can't see any issue why

No I understood how to use the Configurator. For the boot theme I only changed stuff in the theme editor. Now I found out I have to actually set the desired theme in the GUI section. I also managed to check the FixShutdown flag but it does not help. Every time I (try to) shut down the computer...

Upgrading from HighSierra to Catalina failed - can't see any issue why

I'm not sure if I'm doing this the right way as it seems my changes have no effect. Can it be that I manipulate the wrong config.plist file? - I open the Clover Configurator App - I mount the EFI folder of my Hackintosh Catalina Partition - I change something like the checkmark on the...

Upgrading from HighSierra to Catalina failed - can't see any issue why

Hi @pastrychef I have two follow up problems since you edited my EFI Folder 1. My Hackintosh keeps restarting if I want it to shut down 2. You cleared up some of the boot options and made the boot process twice as fast (that is great!!) but the boot option for my windows hard drive is gone...

It seems to work. Thank you very much. Would you tell me what you have done?

Upgrading from HighSierra to Catalina failed - can't see any issue why

Here it is... [edit] I just realized that I have two EFI partitions. EFI on EFI (disk0s1) EFI on EFI (disk1s1) could one be the 'original' and one the backup?

I'm not sure how. The system does not boot. Is it possible i.e. to see it / mount it in the clover boot screen?
