You can still find used/refurb Z490 Vision D or Vision G on eBay, for example. Just check for a few weeks and also do some Google searches to cover other stores and platforms. This is how I got my Vision D last year and I have been extremely happy with this build. Running flawlessly in my music...
The FV-A436CS2 doesn't just have a different model number, it also looks different from the FV-HB1200 and is cheaper. They might use the same Broadcom chip, of course.
My order from Fenvi's AliExpress shop took less two weeks to arrive in Germany, so I can definitely recommend this option for...
If you want to add Wifi and Bluetooth to your 8300 (SFF in my case), I can recommend the FV-A436CS2 from Fenvi's AliExpress shop. Low profile bracket, plug and play when using the internal MEDIA or MEDIA2 USB connectors...
Another success to report, ordered a second FV-A436CS2 from Fenvi's AliExpress shop for my HP Compaq Elite 8300 SFF. The card comes with a low profile bracket.
The main board has two additional USB headers labeled MEDIA and MEDIA2, which are suitable for the required internal USB connection...
Not disagreeing with @etorix, however upgrading my build to z490 Vision D and OpenCore was a fantastic experience. If anything, too little tinkering for my taste! ;)
I was able to set up a production-ready machine in a day, and it's been running flawlessly for two weeks now. So just a...
Looks like my installation was successful! I just said it, but again thank you so much @CaseySJ!
One question I have is, how do I rename the system volume so it also shows correctly in the boot picker? I have renamed in Disk Utility but the picker still shows the name chosen during...
EDIT: Did a hard restart and it works now. Odd!
Hi everyone, finally received my Vision D and am very excited to set this up. The guide is phenomenal, thanks heaps @CaseySJ. Almost too easy!
However I am running into an issue that does not let me finish installation. I get stuck at WIFI...
Hi everyone, my current build using Clover is set up so that two APFS boot volumes share the same EFI (one drive). This has worked flawlessly for a few years now, providing more separation for two different users than user accounts in the same installation would. Will I have any problems...
UHD 750 iGPU are not supported and won’t work. Personally, I don’t see any benefits in z590 except availability. If you are after a production machine, get z490 now. Won’t be around for much longer.
I don’t think you’ll really gain anything in terms of workflow and performance, but sacrifice reliability. Future updates may or may not work. If you need a performance bump maybe get a 9900K for your Z390 board.
