    Gigabyte Z490 Vision D (Thunderbolt 3) + i5-10400 + AMD RX 580

That's extremely embarrassing; I was looking in Preferences. Somehow it had set itself to 'Background Music', whatever that is. Sorry for the simple question, but thanks for your help!

    Gigabyte Z490 Vision D (Thunderbolt 3) + i5-10400 + AMD RX 580

Having some fresh issues with Facetime. Spent a few days trying to figure it out but can't seem to. Able to make calls using my iPhone, and the Facetime app: 1) Doesn't seem to be picking up my microphone 2) The little audio bars in the Facetime call window move when the other person speaks, but...

    Gigabyte Z490 Vision D (Thunderbolt 3) + i5-10400 + AMD RX 580

Hullo - I had an issue with being unable to download anything from the app store. I hit Get and it just spun for a bit, and didn't do anything. All the rest of my iMessage/iCloud etc worked fine, so I knew it wasn't the serial number. A bit of research gave me this solution THAT WORKED. I...

    Gigabyte Z490 Vision D (Thunderbolt 3) + i5-10400 + AMD RX 580

Upgraded from my Z390 Designare today. Really simple process - I just updated the BIOS and applied suggested settings, downloaded Casey's 0.6.0 Opencore EFI, and put in my serial number etc.. I tried iMac20,1 first and Opencore loader was giving me the dreaded white prohibited sign, so just...

    Gigabyte Z490 Vision D (Thunderbolt 3) + i5-10400 + AMD RX 580

Thanks jbravo. If you're able, I think the correct test here would be using Intel Power Gadget while a benchmark is running. Trying it with the thermal/power limits at both default and max. Observing whether the clock speed is staying in a boosted state more constant when thermals are at max...

    Gigabyte Z490 Vision D (Thunderbolt 3) + i5-10400 + AMD RX 580

I guess the main benefit is that it can stay at that boosted state for an extended period of time. That is probably more valuable than the few MHz improvements (4.6GHz consistent over 8 cores is still pretty damn sweet). In any testing, did you notice it able to persist at the boosted clock...

    Gigabyte Z490 Vision D (Thunderbolt 3) + i5-10400 + AMD RX 580

Hi @jbravo14 - did you have any luck with this? I am looking at this option too, compared to a 10700K, and whether removing the power levels and BCLK in the BIOS performs similarly to 10700K in MacOS. For anyone else with a 104/6/7/900 (non-K) and adequate cooling that could test out this...

    Gigabyte Z490 Vision D (Thunderbolt 3) + i5-10400 + AMD RX 580

Has anyone experimented removing the power limits in the BIOS for an 'overclock' with the non-K chips? @jbravo14 ? Interested to hear if it works well! https://www.techpowerup.com/review/intel-core-i7-10700/20.html

    Gigabyte Z490 Vision D (Thunderbolt 3) + i5-10400 + AMD RX 580

Hello, my friends. Currently on Z390 Designare + 9600KF. I am now wanting to upgrade, but the cost of 9900K is eyewatering. For that reason, I am considering upgrading to Z490 Vision D + 10700K. For those with both platforms, or that have upgraded, are there ANY advantages remaining to the Z390...

    [SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

Hi - I'm hoping I could find some help with Sidecar. I am using a 9600KF, on OpenCore 0.5.8 with the recommended iMac19,1 SMBIOS. From advice online, I have tried using the boot arguments shikigva=40 (or 32) + shiki-id=Mac-7BA5B2D9E42DDD94 as recommended in other online Hackintosh resources, but...

    [SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

Thanks for doing this so quickly, CaseySJ - you are awesome. I just have one question: I am currently on NDK fork, but think I might just go back to the regular OpenCore version. I don't mind spamming F12 when I boot to choose the Windows drive, which seems like the only notable advantage...

    [SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

I am happy to share my successful audio build! A gigantic thank you to everyone in the thread who has contributed - I personally believe this thread has single-handedly helped the reputation and legitimacy of Hackintoshes for serious high-end use, which in turn makes the whole community...

    [SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

I'd mirror this, however, I think the Rode NT1 (the black one, not the silver 'NT1-A') is a better choice. The top end isn't so harsh! Great cheap mics made in Australia, with impressively low self-noise!

    [SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

Hi CaseySJ and friends. In reference to the OpenCore experimental setup, how should we approach this guide if we are installing fresh from scratch (particularly the part about product number, serial number, etc.)? It seems the guide is moreso tailored for swapping across from Clover. Is most of...
