    ALC889 AppleHDA.kext (10.7.x Lion)

Re: ALC889 AppleHDA.kext (10.7.1 Lion) headphones on the front of your case? if so, i had the same problem. i fixed this by going back to the apple hda rollback from multibeast.

HD3000 with QE/CI Lion 10.7-10.7.2 (dsdt mod free)

well, after installing the chimera update and using the mac mini smbios, my system no longer reboot loops if i set the video memory in the bios to 480+2 while using the apple hda rollback... i have been video editing in final cut pro x for the past 6 or 7 hours and i've only seen one or two...

HD3000 with QE/CI Lion 10.7-10.7.2 (dsdt mod free)

well after more testing the artifacts still show up. with the audio kext, i found that the rollback actually works best, aside from me not being able to set the on-chip framebuffer size to 480+2 in the bios. i tried a recent 10.7.1 patched kext for the ALC889, but it didn't work with my front...

    ALC889 AppleHDA.kext (10.7.x Lion)

Re: ALC889 AppleHDA.kext (10.7.1 Lion) GA-Z68MX-UD2H-B3 installed the kext and now my front audio ports don't work (headphones) like they did with the HDA rollback. anyone with the same board able to test something for me? if i set the on-chip frame buffer size to 480+2 in the BIOS my system...

HD3000 with QE/CI Lion 10.7-10.7.2 (dsdt mod free)

i just became more frustrated because i was doing some image editing in pixilmator and got the screen artifacting on still images! it might be worth noting that i had final cut pro in the background sitting idle. i quit final cut pro and the system will still throw the random black lines across...

HD3000 with QE/CI Lion 10.7-10.7.2 (dsdt mod free)

hmm, i'm apprehensive to change the DevID (or were you talking about the cpu device id? it's an i5 2500k, so 0112. i mixed your two sentences). i'm using 3,1. do you think changing that to 8,1 will really help in my case? i tried changing to 12,1 once and the system became unusable. i have...

HD3000 with QE/CI Lion 10.7-10.7.2 (dsdt mod free)

done. notes: i am on a desktop, so i had to search for IGD0 to add the code, the dsdt compiled without any errors, but i don't know how necessary it is to set my system designator to macbook pro 8,1, so i left mine as a mac pro 3,1. it booted fine; i've still got full QE/CI and dual display...

HD3000 with QE/CI Lion 10.7-10.7.2 (dsdt mod free)

just want to say i used this method to modify the graphics kexts from the 10.7.1 update and it seems like performance is a lot better. in 10.7.0 i was experiencing green horizontal lines and artifacts over video, specifically 1080i prores video in final cut pro x. after some time editing the...

Mac OS X 10.7.1 Update - The Official Thread

ga-z68mx-ud2h-b3 i5 2500k installed update, multibeast for apple hda rollback, reboot. everything is working. IN FACT the apple hda rollback NEVER worked for me in 10.7.0, i would just get a reboot loop, so why the hell is it working now? can't complain. audio is now fully working with front...

Lion plus GA-Z68MX-UD2H-B3 - do all features work?

then maybe there was something wrong with the DSDT file i used? ALC8xx + AppleHDA Rollback reboot loops every time. have to go into installer terminal to delete the AppleHDA and then it'll boot. i might try it again.

    Lost Sound

this is how i got working sound working on my ga-z68mx-ud2h-b3 with alc889: -removed all audio kexts as mentioned in this thread -installed the ALC8xx driver and the ALC889 HDAEnabler from multibeast 3.8.0 -installed the following kext with kextbeast...

    Lost Sound

same problem here. currently trying to get it working without the voodoo stuff. the way i am able boot back into lion (with no sound) is to first boot to the installer partition and remove both the audio kexts with terminal and reboot.
