That happened to me when I installed Mountain Lion. I formatted that partition again, and re-installed it. It worked perfectly. If that doesn't work, try installing Snow Leopard using iBoot for Ivy Bridge, and then updating to Mountain Lion from there. I did that for a friend of mine.

Well written, I have the same PC as yours. I tried all those flags, and a lot of lines kept on appearing. I didn't manage to find any error, but it didn't take me to the installer. It just rebooted back to Windows 8. I can't quite understand what the problem is.
