    GA-Z87N-WiFi 10.8.5 compatibility

I've been planning to update my CPU and motherboard since the announcement of Haswell as an i5 3570K just doesn't cut it. Also, I have four SATA III SSDs and I saw that the new board would have 4 SATA III headers. Now that 10.8.5 is out, I'm chomping at the bit. I'm planning to buy an i7 4770K...

What is your wireless card? Is there any software installed that could mess with the downloaded data?

    MultiBeast 5.3 Update

I would like to say that the GenericUSBXHCIController.kext in this version of Multibeast allows for the USB 3.0 ports to work with USB 2.0 storage devices.

To SSD or not to SSD?

I would get a few SSDs - a 64GB or 128GB for caches, a 128GB or 256GB for your boot volume, and perhaps a 512GB for your main storage. HDDs are just too vulnerable and slow.

To SSD or not to SSD?

Good man. I have 3 Crucial M4s (256GB), a two samsung 840 pros (256GB) and a few OWC drives to my name. The samsungs definitely send the other drives packing.

Try booting without the graphics card plugged in. Install OS X, then install the graphics card. There have been a number of issues as far as dedicated graphics are concerned during installation.

Your drives are probably set to hot swappable in your BIOS. Double check that setting, it should be under SATA or ATA Controllers.

    BitterMelon's "Chip" build: GA-Z77N-WIFI - i5-3570K - HD 6870

Very interesting build. I actually did this myself. Except different. I used a CoolerMaster Hyper TX3 instead of the water cooling (water + computer = dumb), A corsair quiet edition fan with my own "ghetto" bolts (I made them myself), and OWC SSDs because their write speeds are through the...
