[Guide] HP Elite 8300 & 6300 Pro (all form factors) using Clover UEFI hotpatch

Alright, great! I probably will end up grabbing a dedicated GPU for it down the road. But on its own, for now, the HD4000 should give me a pretty smooth and fluent experience with what I’m looking to do, right ? (Based on what I’ve been reading) Also, do you recommend any low profile RX560s in...

[Guide] HP Elite 8300 & 6300 Pro (all form factors) using Clover UEFI hotpatch

Hey again. So I’ve been searching around the past few days weighing different options. I came across this HP 8300 i7 and wanted to see if you had any feedback on it :). I think it looks decent and from what we’ve previously discussed, the HD 4000 should fair great in the system (Xcode for...

Yup, that’s looking like a steal. Alright, so if I purchase this, I’ll also need to grab a dedicated GPU (such as the GT 710) for it to work in Mojave due to the i5’s integrated graphics, correct ?- that is if I don’t purchase the i7 and upgrade the system.

Got it, I did so. Does the HP 8300 i5-3470 work out of the box for Mojave with a connected GT 710 (in reference to the models I linked earlier in the thead)?

Is this posting/system as "trusted" as the 1-year "warranty" from the NewEgg one? It seems to say "eBay Money Back Guarantee" but I don't have that much experience with eBay, so don't really know the details of that as compared to NewEgg.

Going back to this, I noticed the system only has 4GB of RAM. For things like Xcode and Swift dev., I would def. need a minimum of 8GB. Do you have another link to a system with 8GB of RAM or do you recommend any RAM models that are compatible with this?

Wow, thanks for that information and link. That does look like a really good deal and would essentially cost less than my previously discussed option. I’m definately going to look into this and might buy it tonight. Thanks again!

If you do get around to it, I’m pretty just much looking for how the OS acts (animations between opening and closing, transparency effects, etc..) and how Xcode runs. Thanks for the help!

That’s good information to know. I’m leaning toward that route too, it really just comes down to how the GT 710 will be in Mojave paired with the i5 version of the 8300. I would just go with the High Sierra route, but really want Mojave for the latest Xcode and what not.

Thank you for the reply and information! I started looking into hp 8300s with an i5-3475S, but them seem scarce on amazon. I’ll start looking into the i7-3770 as well. If I was to go down the route of getting the GT 710, would that be more of a out-of-the-box situation with Mojave or would that...

[Guide] HP Elite 8300 & 6300 Pro (all form factors) using Clover UEFI hotpatch

Hey, I'm new to the hackintosh realm and was wondering if this guide is still running strong in terms of Mojave. From reading the comments, it seems fairly well. I am essentially trying to build a budget-friendly hackintosh as a way to introduce myself to macOS Mojave and more importantly the...
