I have an ATI 5870 from a Mac Pro in my hackintosh running smoothly, except for sleep.
The machine sleeps then when waking it won't turn on the main screen (DVI) the card's fan speeds up but nothing else happens.
The rest of the build is a GA-Z77N-WIFI with an i3-3225.

It also is pretty simple to just boot in safe mode using Apple+x keys.
Or you can type -x at the bootloader screen when selecting the hard drive.
From there OSX will boot with a loading bar at the bottom into safe mode, just relaunch multibeast and choose the proper definitions.
Its going to happen, new macs will have haswell so if you are looking to build a new machine you can start with lunux or windows for now then build the hackintosh later once OSX 9 Mavericks is released.
I want to say yes since some of the cards are rebrands or slightly different board layouts based on the same cores in the 600 series (which work natively) but I doubt from the get go.

I also am having issues with Windows 8 not showing up in chameleon, just installed today, both ML and W8 work fine independantly but I have to force boot to a specific drive each time. Strange?
I'm looking at building a machine based on the CustoMac suggestions, though I have a question;
Would I be able to dual boot windows 8? I plan on having one 500GB drive for Mac, and a 2TB for windows.
How smooth would this be?
The motherboard I plan on using is Gigabyte GA-B75M-D3P...
