Yet another Lenovo G50-70 install Mavericks thread

Just an update. I haven't given up on finishing this, just been busy with other more important projects. Also, I'll confess to having picked up an HP 450 G1 (4702MQ/8750/8GB SERIOUSLY?! 1 SODIMM -> SINGLE channel?!). The HP is just a MUCH NICER machine from build quality, fit and finish...

I switched back to the desktop to send these, but I believe that I already did set DropOEM=true. Numbering: I did NOT know that. I figured that it was dumb and only went to e.g. SSDT-1 IFF SSDT.aml existed, and -2 ONLY IFF SSDT-1 existed, etc. so yeah, I will change that. In the case of...

Well, I've started working up a patch for the battery after checking all the available patches, thinking that a notebook from the same mfg was mostly likely to have copy-and-pasteitess along with similar/same chips used, but alas it wasn't so, so base on...

I'm not planning on doing anything tonight much, but wouldn't mind your comments if you're available to do so... I'll try this again on the g50 and see what I get, as I was surprised by the dup error(above), but...** ** like I mentioned I have my doubts on the correctness of the...

more to the point I'm getting:68, 6074, Name already exists in scope (_SB_.PCI0.RP05.PEGP)along with the prior two PARSEOP_STORE errors that I was getting on compile on the notebook itself...* * I'm doing this on my hackintosh desktop ATM as it's just so much faster...

Yeah, "fixed" those, but my question is, is t hat REALLY a fix or does it just work for what we have? i.e. had you tried my proposed fix as well? I tried to send you a PM but apparently I'm not a prolific enough(75 posts) poster to send you one in which I wanted to discuss ACPI matters...

Thanks. Maybe I'll muster the energy before I go out to take a quick peek, as I'm sure that this will bug me all night and I'll be back at it in the morning. Here's a raw dump of what I pulled using acpidump & extract.

rehab: already did all of that. As of matter of fact I extracted the dsdt & ssdts by two methods(backup my clover config and installed 14.04LTS Ubuntu on there to do the below): method 1: manually cp'ed them from /sys/firmware/acpi/tables & tables/dynamic method 2: ran acpidump and...

Oh. Anyways... for the time being I've wussed out and sacrificed the scorpio black 750GB to the greater good of a quicker OS X install. So, I've got 10.10.1 running instead of Mavericks(figured WTH), and am now down to DSDT SSDT audio etc. patching. The RT USB ac1200 is working with the RT...

If you follow the breadcrumb trail, I believe what he is referring to is that they discovered that installing OSX to an existing GPT drive that the usually installed M$ reserved partition breaks OSX all over the place(mostly disk utility, and most likely the entire disk subsystem I'd hazard) so...

Yep, tinkered around some more last night after updating the BIOS. Back to around where I started with the HP clover package(minus hp stuff), but looking at the logs, I see packagekit throwing errors 24 and 22, then keychain complained about too many open files and not being able to verify...

ah hah! That MIGHT be it! * AND lo and behold a BIOS update from last week that *GASP* IF I leave UEFI boot mode ON I can turn OFF secure boot(in theory), however selecting DISABLED leaves the secure boot status line below still ENABLED! BIOS is apparently from "insyde" whom I'd never...

CGP? Ports? Anyways, as mentioned above that worked, but the version had gone from 3028 -> 3033, and then to make things easier on myself(mbpro batt is on it's last legs. I've a replacement but not gotten around to installing it or that "spare" drive...) I moved my big hackintosh to where...

Yep. I suspect a conflict with some fink built binaries installed. I'm attempting a clean rebuild with fink "disabled" ATM. Thanks for the projectosx link. I probably overlooked that site as the versions referenced are quite old(OSX) but it looks like the clover threads are still alive...
