I've now tried installing and reinstalling High Sierra a number of times. Most recently, I tried using tonymacx86's custom Clover build to install OsxAptioFix3Drv-64.efi, but I'm still getting the same error. Attempting to boot into the Recovery partition gets me the "kextd stall AppleACPICPU"...
Hi all,
So I'm upgrading from 10.11 to High Sierra, and I've run into a problem. I made it to the installer screen with only minimal issues (I needed to use the MATS table-dropping fix), but once my system rebooted after the install screen completed, I now can't start up. When I select the...
I've been having this same problem and I disabled the SuperIO port in my BIOS settings and it did not help. Any other ideas? I've attached a screenshot
This issue has been driving me nuts, but I think I might have caused it by mounting the EFI partition and then restarting the computer without unmounting it first. Given that disk0 is my boot disk, I figured disk0s3 might be my EFI partition and there was some kind of error involving the OS...
Hey all, I had this error while trying to upgrade a Mavericks (10.9.5) installation to El Capitan. I switched my UniBeast USB from a USB 2 port to a different port (USB 3, in this case) and did not get the error anymore. Go figure.
YOU ARE A GOD!
Thank you. I was having the same problem (successful Mavericks install, but could not boot unless in Safe Mode (-x) and was able to correct it by setting "Init Display First" to "PCI" on my UEFI. It now is on "Auto" and still boots up, but I'd recommend playing with this...
Thanks for your work on this, toleda.
I've successfully installed Mavericks and run Multibeast, but I've been having trouble booting into Mavericks without my UniBeast USB and I think I've traced the issue down to my graphics card. (If I unplug my HD 6860 completely, I am able to boot up...
UPDATE:
I was also having an issue with Chimera not opening the correct boot volume by default (i.e. I wanted it to default to the SDD but it still defaulted to the HDD, even after I modified boot flags in the plist file). Plugging the SSD into SATA slot 1 on the mobo solved this (at the...
Hey All,
Well, my build is up and running (mostly), but I'm still having a few niggling issues:
1. Screen Flickering
Every now and then when I boot into my HDD, my screen flickers and the boot hangs. Rebooting solves the issue, but what could be a more permanent fix?
2. Keyboard...
Hi toleda,
Thanks for all your fantastic work on this. I followed your directions (I think!), but I don't see an option for 5.1 surround sound on the list of output devices. I edited my DSDT file per your instructions and it compiled without a hitch, and I also installed the Patched AppleHDA...
Here's a thread where I'm asking about the same problem.

The system runs like a dream in Windows, so I'm guessing my hardware's ok.
Can you guys help me out? I feel like at this point I'm trying voodoo and superstitious rituals to get this build to work...
Hmm... How could I format the HDD? Could I do in in the BIOS? I haven't been able to reach the Mac OS X installer in order to access Disk Utility. Is there another way to format it? Also, what might putting it in a 6 Gbps port do? I bought a 6 Gbps HDD, so I'd love to be able to use the faster...
Thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately, when I boot using the PCIRootUID=0 flag, it still hangs up, but it doesn't give the "Still waiting for root device" error. Instead, it just stops the boot process and then gives a cursor (perhaps to input commands?).
