Apple Announces M1 Ultra CPU, Mac Studio and Studio Display

The question is. Can I hook up my two monitors and my Wacom Cintiq or am I limited to two monitors like with the Mac mini?

A surprise to be sure, but a welcome one. - Sidious

[Success] AMD RX6000 Series working in macOS

Quite honestly I would be happy to stay with High Sierra. I'm sure the later versions have a few bells and whistles, but I'm not super excited about Big Sur. That said, I would take any of them over going back to Windows if I had the choice. Whenever I boot in for gaming I grit my teeth having...

[Success] AMD RX6000 Series working in macOS

This may be the direction I go and migrate away from Apple. I hate to do it because there is specific software I use that will not run on Windows, and I can barely stand that OS as it is.

[Success] AMD RX6000 Series working in macOS

Unfortunately none of the current mac offerings are flexible enough for my needs, or at a cost I van justify. Gaming in parallels is not satisfactory for the games I enjoy.

[Success] AMD RX6000 Series working in macOS

It is frustrating. I don't necessarily blame anyone as I am still aware these are not officially supported computers. That said, as a creative professional like yourself, the options for my needs seem to be quickly dwindling. Sure, I can wait... but software is starting to become incompatible...

[Success] AMD RX6000 Series working in macOS

Yes. The Mac options aren't good for many reasons. One of course is cost. I just priced out a lower end iMac which after taxes was above $4000. That is beyond my budget, especially considering the lack of upgradability and power. Secondly, as many others I am on a budget, so I have to find a...

[Success] AMD RX6000 Series working in macOS

Thanks for the advice, but I don't use these computers because I'm looking for a hobby. I am using them because Apple does not offer anything that will work for my purposes. I've been using this computer for over 8 years (with a few upgrades) and it has worked almost flawlessly. Apple does not...

[Success] AMD RX6000 Series working in macOS

I know I am ignorant of how most of this stuff works, but I don't understand why third party drivers can't be written. Either way, this is putting me in a serious dilemma. I have software that is no longer compatible with 10.13 that I use for work. I can't update OSX because I have an Nvidia...

Apple Announces "3rd Transition" for macOS: From Intel CPUs to Apple Silicon

Most of them have Windows versions, but there are a few that don't and I'll have to figure out what to do with those. It will frustrate me a lot to have to learn new software, but what other option do I have? Even if I made enough to purchase a MacPro, I can't justify that kind of cost for what...

Apple Announces "3rd Transition" for macOS: From Intel CPUs to Apple Silicon

My situation is simple. As a designer I prefer to use MacOS, but I'm also a gamer. I have specific hardware needs, but not an unlimited budget. Apple simply doesn't offer anything that will work for my needs, so I switched to Hackintosh. If this is the end of Hackintosh, then I will simply have...

Help: Need a reminder/instructions how to update.

Hey, I have had my computer running almost flawlessly for a few years now. I hesitated updating to the last High Sierra version because of the APFS change to the drive. I put it off and now I am starting to have issues with Safari 11 not working with certain sites (****** being one of them). I...

Will my Nvidia Graphics Card work with macOS ? List of Desktop Cards with Native Support

I have an older Nvidia card that is still compatible, but could never figure out how to make it work in a way that wasn't a total pain.

Will my Nvidia Graphics Card work with macOS ? List of Desktop Cards with Native Support

Sorry if this is the wrong thread and has been answered (if so what is the best thread for this?), but I would like to use 2 Nvidia cards in my setup for Catalina. The 1080ti (and higher) for Windows, but a compatible older Nvidia card for Catalina. This would work great because I could A) get...
