update: repairing permissions and removing the partition didn't seem to help
A few things I noticed:
- Chameleon is loading when I distinctly remember updating to Chimera
- Single user does tho same thing
First things first: my build is in my signature.
I recently updated to Lion with no problems. I decided I barely used my Windows partition and Parallels was good enough. I deleted the Windows partition and added a new secondary partition for media storage.
I shut down for the night and when I...
Looked like a small update, so I just ran it through Software Update and now I'm getting a kernel panic during the apple boot screen :/ (with the machine in my sig).
Help would be appreciated :]
EDIT: Looks like there's a conflict with VooDooHDA. Booting from another drive to try to fix.
I've been using a USB WiFi Adapter, but I started getting the GUID error in the App Store since updating to 10.6.8.
I read it another thread that the App Store looks for on board ethernet, but have so far been unable to get my PCI card recognized.
System Utilities -> Ethernet Cards shows "This...
Also trying to get the App Store working, though :/ This thread was helpful--I had no idea it was because I don't have on-board ethernet working (thanks!)
Are you getting the GUID error as well?
I'll start my own thread :] Thanks!
I'm having a similar problem. I haven,t been able to get my on board ethernet working, so no App Store for me.
Tried Lnx2Mac's drivers, the other Realtek driver and am using a DSDT. OSX doesn't seem to be detecting my ethernet card in System Utilities. Mobo in sig.
Works with the ALC889 on the Gigabyte P55A-UD4P with a few caveats others reported. Here are my solutions:
- Headphone functionality is backwards. If you choose "Headphones", it will give priority to the Back Line Out Port. (ie, if there are audio cables plugged into both the Back Line Out...
Yes, you do have to run the RALink utility at least once to get a connection. I haven't had to toggle the radio on/off on my system, though. Once the connection is established, you can close the utility until you restart or log out.
With Realtek drivers, its best to leave the utility running...
Re: Can't get past Apple Loading Screen after MultiBeast update
Solved. I logged on to my Windows 7 partition, installed MacDrive 8, and deleted all but the fakesmc.kext from my Extras folder. My second monitor is working now too :]
After the last Snow Leopard update, my second monitor stopped working. I decided to update my system using the latest version of MultiBeast.
I used the latest UD4P DSDT, and ran MultiBeast with all the things checked recommended by Lnx2Mac on this post: http://lnx2mac.blogspot.com/2010/07/ins...
Here's some stuff that hasn't been listed yet (I think):
Alfred (a prettier, better Quicksilver)
Breeze (Window Management)
Fluid (Make web apps into quick 'desktop apps')
IceClean and Onyx (System Utilities)
CloudApp (Quick file...
From what I've read the 760 should work fine in this build (sadly, it wasn't out when i built mine). You may even be able to ditch the aftermarket cooler if they've improved the stock cooler, but I'd go for it just in case. If you don't care about a low profile cooler, you can go for the...
