Some general advice about my G5 build

I second the Noctua fans, they are simply amazing!! For the power switch, if you don't want to mod the front panel, you could use an universal momentary switch or the front panel from laserhive.

    PSU question/help

If you want to use the original power supply case, all you have to do is choose a power supply that has a fan on top of it, open the case, remove the fan and fit the new guts to the old case. You would have to pass the power wire thru somewhere if you don't want to do soldering. The way I did...

    2009 MacMini — RX560 eGPU — Case Mod

Or you could install the graphics card on the bottom, make a hole under the motherboard and print a shroud to make sure the graphics pulls air from under the motherboard. That would also give you the opportunity to print something :headbang:

It could be a good way to make both fans pull in the center but you would have to block the holes in the bottom part of the case...

I like the idea! How about a third one? You stack the 3 of them and you get your mac mini cube. You could print the backing to close the case. Heck, you could install the graphics card vertically and even install a pico psu inside!

@craighazan Yes! just like that, there must be a way to insert the one with the motherboard on top while retaining a certain space in between to allow airflow?

    2009 MacMini — RX560 eGPU — Case Mod

What I had in mind was installing the graphic card under the one already modded, removing the metal part in the graphics case allows to remove the plastic with the apple logo. Then I would make a hole in the lower part of the other case ( the one with the motherboard in it). Doing so would allow...

Ok! You are doing this now! Nice! Will you let us see that? You could also use 1050TI from evga, it's 5.7 inches (148mm) long and it doesn't require a power wire. https://www.evga.com/products/specs/gpu.aspx?pn=7e5bfb9f-c13b-4800-a855-bea3724a5f8e
