In order for the card to work, there must be a Thunderbolt post (pinout?) on the MB. The two I have (GA-Z170X-UD5-TH, GA-Z170X-Designare) do not have these posts. No place to plug in the card. I believe the purpose of the card is to add TB3 to MB's that don't already support it. These...

I noticed that. I bought the similar ASUS card, and discovered that neither of my MB's had the posts for Thunderbolt. :( Thanks for checking.

In Win10, I am doing 5k @ 60Hz. Still no joy in OSX, but I haven't spent much time trying. I've also tried it with the Gigabyte GA-Z170X-Designare with no luck either. I'm interested in getting a Gigabyte GC-ALPINE RIDGE card to try, but can't find one. If you can find me one that ships US...

I have the Gigabyte GA-Z170X-UD5 TH motherboard and have the LG 5K monitor connected to the TB3 port, working OOTB with no problems....albeit in Win10 and not OSX...yet.
