@blazinsmokey I finally took the plunge and installed Mojave- this build is working great save for one thing which is actually pretty annoying... I get a LOT of double clicks. It doesn't matter whether I'm using the trackpad or a USB mouse. Any ideas?

I would just replace the SSD, since it's not soldered in. Any tinkering you do to fix the 4k vs 512b issue via software is going to be far more easily solved by having the correct hardware. Not to mention your potential future upgrade paths. Same issue as replacing the wifi. If duet is so...

OK, I've got it working again. I ended up "starting over" and deleting all kexts in EFI/CLOVER/kexts/Other and starting one by one getting the latest versions of everything. Now, however, I don't have audio. I'll open another topic for that.
