@paulcristo: I certainly got macOS Catalina to run on the T480s. Please check the GitHub link in the original post for details. I had to switch out the SSD and the WiFi card (only necessary if you rely on WiFi).
thx @R4Y17
I have discarded my T480s and have bought a new X1 Yoga. For that reason I will no longer maintain my pursuit of getting a T480s to run with Catalina.
Can someone help to fix the battery issue? Battery status is shown in the menu bar (upper right) at this point but is fixed to 0%. Seems as if the battery is just not recognised by the system.
Another thing that I found is that the FN key is not recognised for some reason. I use keyboard...
yes  sound is working ... new gen_dumping
problems that remain:
- can not turn on "show battery status"
- changing display brightness not working using FN+F5 / FN+F6
Thanks for pointing out that thread. I have installed all kexts with Hackintool.
I changed in /Volumes/EFI/EFI/CLOVER/config.plist:

<key>Comment-IRQ Fix</key>

Hi,
I am running Catalina beta on my T480s and so far I have a few things running, namely:
- WQHD resolution
- WiFi + Bluetooth (DW 1830)
- Ethernet
- Trackpad (but I am not able to get into trackpad configuration as of yet)
- Audio HD Realtek ALC3287
- Sound Hotkeys (FN+F1/F2/F3)

I was able to reproduce the kernel panic by inserting linusyang92's kexts/Other/* without overriding any of RehabMan's essential kexts ...
So far, I nailed it down to those eight kexts possibly being problematic ...
SUCCESS with a combination of RehabMan's guide using clover v2.4k r4972 and then replacing the files in drivers64UEFI by those provided by linusyang92.
I have no idea why but it worked ...
I have looked a bit through the verbose lines and this stuck out to me...
nx_volume_group_update:6164: Volume disk1 role 0 Not a System or data volume
Could it be that there is a problem with my Samsung EVO 1TB (not plus!)?
With this version, I get stuck right after starting the install process. I have to admit though that I was not able to select all option that RehabMan provided...
" in "Bootloader", check "Install boot0af in MBR" ("Install boot0ss in MBR" for HDD install if dual-boot Windows) " is not...
I have completely redone the USB installer according to the guidelines of RehabMan. Unfortunately, the kernel panic still appears the same way it did before. I attach my clover folder (having pressed both F2 and F4 this time, although only F2 seems to produce a log file).
