Right now Big Sur just isnt there for full use. Im a FCPX user and Big Sur even with the 11.1 update hurts renders and processing large 4k videos. I do have backup drives which in the Hackintosh world are a must, I would hold off a while on the upgrade to Big Sur. The 11.1 update made some...
I've tried and tried still cant get it to boot. My older i7 build went fine. I have also tried updating to the new OC 0.6.4, and it will not boot. I can provide my folder if you want to take a look. I'm stumped on this one.
EDIT:
Either Im loosing it in my middle ages or my keyboard does...
Great guide. Used it, and now booting using OpenCore on my golden oldie. I now have it and my i9 both booting from OpenCore. The only thing left for this one is the USB mapping. I dont use this machine very much with anything USB so I might forgo that.
So after countless weeks of messing with OpenCore. I am typing this from mine using OpenCore. Windows drive boots and everything is working except for the life of me can not enable verbose boot. I like seeing it boot in case something hangs. I have tried to reverse the guide on OpenCore...
Same here. Click shutdown. It reboots......
This is after going to opencore.
Edit: I have also tried updating my BIOS past 9. Anything above that the system goes into a constant reboot not even making it to the BIOS screen.
I have tested using Jiggler now for a little over a week. As long as it is running, I never have a freeze like I was having. As soon as I turn it off it may make it a minute or maybe couple of hours but it will freeze.
Same exact thing happpening to me. When it freezes it actually locks down my whole home network killing the internet. As soon as I unplug the Ethernet port everything comes back. I didn’t experience this issue one bit .0 or .2. Both .1 and now .3 its back with a vengeance.
Once I get time and I'm back home, I plan on putting the 5700 XT in the i9 just to see what it will do. If the 5900 XT is a beast, I may have to try it. I'm hoping the new i9 that is coming is gonna be that much better.
Also, I see alot of people moving away from optio2000. I use it in both...
Compressor, yes. However, I assumed we were discussing FCPX. The gains are very minimal compared to the cost. Pre FCPX 10.4.7 I would agree that a dual setup works better. If spending 400-800 dollars is ok for 30 seconds to at most a minute then by all means it is worth it for the user. One...
