Elitebook 8470p No webcam after sleep

This issue is resolved in PBI 6.4.6, webcam works after sleep everytime now  Probably been fixed for awhile, just never updated in over a year.

Elitebook 8470p No webcam after sleep

I see. I recall having the exact same issue a few years back with my desktop Gigabyte hack. The external webcam would immediately wake the machine after trying to sleep it. Correct patches to the dsdt alleviated the problem, and I'm typing from that machine right now, wakes with pwrb and/or usb...

I noticed that wake from USB doesn't work either, shouldn't that be all good with patched dsdt? I tried with and without selecting USB Injection in clover configuration. USB mouse clicks not waking, works on desktop hack though. Option for wake from usb is enabled in bios.

Going to be a pretty complex install, no? I was thinking something along the lines of using the AnyiSight.kext to fake the device id of a cam matching HP's firmware update tool (which is not for my cam), using Parallels & flashing inappropriate firmware to it may render it unusable and I could...

Elitebook 8470p No webcam after sleep

Well I guess I'm all out of options then... Since there's no other option, I may play a game of chance with HP, the laptop is still under warranty... and if something unfortunate should so happen to the screen...... *knock on wood*... replacement of the top half would give me a chance at getting...

Elitebook 8470p No webcam after sleep

I assume so because everything else is working 100%... is there something special I need to patch after selecting the 2x70p/6x70b/8x70p option in PBICE?

No, I wish. Only one way it works is to restart. All I see in the logs about USB after second sleep onwards is Previous sleep cause: 5 USBF: 5061.511 AppleUSBEHCI: setPowerState - PCI device still has PME status bit set. PMCSR is 0x8000 The USB device HubDevice (Port 1 of Hub at...

Elitebook 8470p No webcam after sleep

Bluetooth is working without any firmware uploader, all other USB devices work fine, external logitech cam, external hdd, usb flash drive, etc. no problems with USB in general. Both EHCI hubs work fine. That's the only message I see in logs about the cam, & only after first sleep.

Yeah I checked, no firmware updates. Issue doesn't happen in Windows

Elitebook 8470p No webcam after sleep

Ok so is this something i'm just gonna have to live with and is not fixable? Trying to come at it from a different approach, would it in theory be possible to develop some kext that "punks" the cam into thinking the system was just booted up? The log messages do mention the cam turning itself...

Elitebook 8470p No webcam after sleep

Yeah, tried fresh install. No changes. Here's something I just noticed though. For fun I replaced the dsdt in the "patched" dir with the "origin" one, noticed an extra device on next reboot. I wasn't able to test sleep with the origin dsdt as the system was very slow & unresponsive, but is it at...

Elitebook 8470p No webcam after sleep

Could trying GenericUSBXHCI.kext do anything for me even though the cam is on EHC? I looked in /efi/clover/kexts/10.10 and it's not there

Damn, mine doesn't have a video memory size. Is your cam vendor also Sunplus in system profiler > usb?

Just for fun I tried to inject the values of the working Primax cam but still no luck >_> still gone after sleep Must be some way of signaling it to wake up in dsdt after sleep :-(

I remembered this kext and tried it yesterday. It works great for my desktop Logitech but in this case just made the cam spit out crazy colors, mostly pinks, no clear image. Even with it being recognized as iSight it still doesn't appear after sleep
