    Intermittent laggy mouse

One more update: sleep (and waking back up!) seem to be working now, as well. :) -- Mark

    Intermittent laggy mouse

Thank you for all your responses. They are appreciated. :) As I mentioned earlier, the kind of mouse doesn't seem to matter: wired, bluetooth, Razer, Apple, HP -- tried them all. ;-) When this happens, Activity monitor usually shows the "kernel_task" using over 100% CPU (often way higher)...

    Intermittent laggy mouse

Another thing I just noticed: If I enable WiFi, the symptom occurs. I have the recommended Fenvi FV-T919 installed, connected to an internal USB header (IORegistryExplorer shows it at HS12) Could this be the culprit? If so, any thoughts on how to troubleshoot and address the issue? Note...

    [Success] BoomR's 360/VR Production Build > GA-Z170X-DESIGNARE - i7 6700K - NVIDIA GTX 970

Heh! No problem. Great question. The problem seems to be more one of the "kernel_task" and/or "sysmond" running at high CPU usages. I've tried several different mice (Razer, HP, "no-name" brand) as well as USB direct and Bluetooth (like Apple trackpad), and the issue persists. I'm guessing...

    Intermittent laggy mouse

Thanks for your response. It seems to not make any difference if the mouse is bluetooth (Razer Orochi) or wired (Razer Naga / generic HP) Thanks, -- Mark

    Intermittent laggy mouse

One fairly intermittent issue I'm running into. Every-so-often, the mouse gets "laggy/stuttery". Once that happens, here are some symptoms: "sysmond" and/or "kernel_task" are running at a "high percentage", sometimes way over 100% (Activity Monitor) Activity Monitor's "CPU Window" show one or...

    [Guide] MUSIC PRODUCTION Skylake Build: 10.11.6, Z170X-Designare, 6700K, HD530, TB3, 960 EVO M.2

Hi all, My z170x designaire build has been pretty stable over the past couple years. However, I do experience one fairly intermittent issue. Every-so-often, the mouse gets "laggy/stuttery". Once that happens, here are some symptoms: "sysmond" and/or "kernel_task" are running at a "high...

This build is still working great ... for the most part. Running High Sierra (10.13.6) but would like to upgrade the machine to run Mojave. Currently, there are no Nvidia web drivers for Mojave, so I'm looking to get an AMD video card. Has anyone here, with a similar build, found any...

    Security Update 2019-001 10.13.6

After running the Security Update 2019-001, Clover no longer shows my boot drive as an option. I can still boot from the other partitions/hard drives, but the “updated” drive doesn’t even show up in clover. Any suggestions on where to begin troubleshooting? Thanks, — Mark

    AptioMemoryFix and ApfsDriverLoader-64.efi

Yeah, I have several drives I boot from, with different OSes. Don't want to break that! :-) Thanks, -- Mark

    AptioMemoryFix and ApfsDriverLoader-64.efi

Well. The problem recurred after running over 6 hours. I've attached my EFI and IOReg files. Thanks, in advance, for any comments/suggestions, -- Mark

    AptioMemoryFix and ApfsDriverLoader-64.efi

Should "EmuVariableUefi-64.efi" be removed if "AptioMemoryFix-64.efi" is being used? My (very non-scientific/subjective) experiments show that the following setup results in a stuttery/high-cpu experience Activity Monitor shows kerneltask, sysmond, and WindowServer all running at the 80-110+%...

Another update ... in case this helps someone else. :-): Mojave now recognizes my NVMe drive. I simply had to remove the "EFI/CLOVER/ACPI/patched/SSDT-NVMe-Pcc.aml" from the EFI partition and reboot. Now my Sierra (NVMe) drive shows up on the desktop. :-)

Quick update: Using the "Nvidia High-Sierra driver workaround" that has been discussed in several threads, I did get the Nvidia Web driver working. I used this method to install the Nvidia web driver: https://github.com/Benjamin-Dobell/nvidia-update I updated Lilu.kext to version 1.2.8...
