How to disable Power Nap, when not in System Pref

My hackintosh build appears to be running "Power Nap" periodically throughout the night, which is a tad annoying, since my computer is in the room where I sleep. The monitors don't turn on, but the fans and hard drives spin up for a minute or so, sometimes within 15 minutes of the last time it...

<< Solved >> USB Port Mapping not working. :/

Thanks for the reply. One time I specified lots of things in a post and got scolded for that, so I never know quite what to include. I'm running Mojave (10.14.6), using Clover, using System definition "iMac14,2", and motherboard "Gigabyte LGA 1151 Z170 2-Way SLI UEFI DualBIOS GA-Z170XP-SLI." I...

<< Solved >> USB Port Mapping not working. :/

I followed the instructions for port mapping at: https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/the-new-beginners-guide-to-usb-port-configuration.286553/ but to no avail. I figured out which ports I need (HS/SS1,2,5,6,9,10 and HS13,14). I selected and deleted the rest in Hackintool, so that only the 14 I...

<< Solved >> Ethernet not working in Mojave, Gigabyte Z170XP

I was able to get my network running again. I copied the IntelMausiEthernet.kext from a TimeMachine backup of /Library/Extensions into my current /Library/Extensions, and removed the Realtek one. I don't know why multiple attempts at doing this via Multibeast didn't cause this to work before.

<< Solved >> Ethernet not working in Mojave, Gigabyte Z170XP

I've been using wired Ethernet just fine for quite a while in Mojave 10.14.6 with my Gigabyte Z170XP build. I originally used the IntelMausiEthernet v2.1.0 kext (according to my notes). This weekend I decided to update kexts to get my USB 3.0 working, which I finally was able to do. But somehow...

USB 3.0 port only handles USB 2.0?

Ever since I upgraded one of my drives (not my boot drive), my computer has been sad. Shutting down or waking from sleep cause a reboot, which is annoying. And the front USB 3.0 ports don't work. Oddly, the USB 3.0 ports in the rear of the computer do seem to work (a MIDI keyboard plugged into...

    Reboot on sleep in Mojave

Just did, thanks. (I had to swap GPUs when I upgraded to Mojave).

    Reboot on sleep in Mojave

Thanks for the heads up. Sorry for my noobie mistake. I have trimmed down my post accordingly.

    Reboot on sleep in Mojave

I am running Mojave (10.14.6), and things were working fine. Then I upgraded an internal hard drive (not the boot drive), and now I have 3 problems (in priority order): Sleep or shutdown causes a reboot to happen. Front USB 3.0 ports stopped working (again. I fixed this once before). The...

New Apple Silicon Macs: MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, and Mac Mini

The days of the Hackintosh appear to be numbered. I'd guess we have a few years of compatibility left, after which existing systems will continue to run existing software, but will be stuck there, eventually becoming obsolete. As long as the new systems are fast enough and reasonably priced, I...

    << Solved >> Mojave 10.14.6 USB 2.0/3.0/3.1 fix

I'm having the same trouble: Front USB 3.0 ports not working. I tried typing the above into the Clover Configurator KextsToPatch area, but no effect. Also, after I type those in, am I supposed to do something to get them actually applied? Or do they apply right when you tab out of the fields...

    Optical drive not working

It was new when I put it in my Hackintosh a couple of years ago. It worked for a while originally. I'll put it in another machine to see if it works.

    Optical drive not working

Thanks for the reply. Finder preferences is set to show "CDs, DVDs and iPods". I've tried blank DVDs as well as commercial discs like software, movies, etc., and nothing shows up. I recently had a problem where my SD cards wouldn't show up on the desktop, and I had to add some kexts to fix...

<< Solved >> NVIDIA drivers for macOS Mojave

Dang. I just upgraded to Mojave so I can use the latest Logic Pro X, and now I lost my GPU. :/ I guess I'll buy an AMD and sell my NVIDIA to a Windows user. Update: I bought a Sapphire Radeon RX580, and it worked great.
