Would enabling SSDT-RMDGPU remove usage of the dGPU on OS X and Windows 10 if on a dual boot? Is there a way to shut off the dGPU only when booting into OS X?
edit: for the 9560
If you are running High Sierra 10.13, have you noticed improvements in using a 4k NVMe SSD now that they are natively supported? Is there still a significant battery life decrease/heat increase when using this over a SATA drive?
Noob question here. I am looking to hackintosh a 9360 i7-8550u and plan to replace the stock SSD with a Samsung 850 Evo 500gb. The 9360 setup guide however says the M.2 drive can only support up to 128gb of SATA storage (though NVMe/PCIe are listed as 1TB). Why would the capacity be listed so low?
My original Post:
" I noticed the reason why your Sierra boot failed was because of the line:
HID: legacy shim 2
<panic> "
This was an incorrect statement. I should have not assumed that I knew this error.
However, changing the Bios boot mode setting from UEFI only to Legacy+UEFI helped solve...
Don't worry, I had the same issue (with Windows not appearing). I also made a Hackintosh from a computer with Windows 10 OS on a separate HDD. The Windows should still be there (you don't need to reinstall the OS), it just won't be listed in the Bios/Clover. To fix this, I removed the SATA cable...
Sure! I kind of cheated with the sound and used Voodoo HDA instead of the ALC887 that's on board. It's an easy fix and works pretty well: https://sourceforge.net/projects/voodoohda/
It sounds very grainy the first time you use it, but if you turn input gain all the way down in the Voodoo sound...
I created a bootable USB with Ubuntu 16.0.4 (GPT Bios/UEFI; portable) using rufus and I was wondering if there was some way I could configure Clover (or the OS itself) to boot Ubuntu from it. I am not planning on installing Ubuntu on my computer, I just want to boot it from the USB. The USB...
For the record, it worked like a charm! Thanks for the help!
Also, if anyone is curious about MSI H110M Gaming Micro ATX LGA1151 Bios settings, they were (from default):
Load Optimized Defaults (F6)
OverClocking/CPU Features/ CFG Lock to disabled
Advanced/USB Configuration/XHCI Hand-off to enabled
