Using another mac i downloaded 3899 and installed over my currenting USB stick, took that usb stick to my hackintosh and booted without issue! hope this helps some of you out there falling victim to the clover 3922 issue.

Wanted to give an update......So just as an experiment i bought the exact same model of RAM that I already have in the machine. Machine has 8gb so I decided to buy another 8gb of the same stuff........Low and behold the machine has been up and running without freezing/screeching/etc for 3weeks...

Thanks for the reply Kasbah, sadly we do not use TimeMachine. We do have 2-3 external enclosures that run in Raid 1 as to protect all the photo files my wife uses. However I will run verify disk and repair permissions on all drives we connect to the pc(mac lol) to see if that helps. Sadly this...

Hi there, thank you for the replay. I am not overclocking anything. But would the GPU or CPU auto overclock if/when needed? is there a way to make sure either or both are not doing so and/or turn off any auto overclocking functions?

THis worked for me too...booted into SAFE mode and was able to open Terminal and fix it. rebooted and all is well. :headbang:
