<< Solved >> Dell 7577 Monterey not recognising battery charger disconnected

Hello there, I'm happy to attach my EFI folder. However, please keep in mind that your hardware does not exactly match mine. My 7577 has a gtx1050ti and a 1080p display, while yours probably is the model with upgraded graphics card and screen. Also, I replaced the builtin wifi card with a...

<< Solved >> Dell 7577 Monterey not recognising battery charger disconnected

Update: In the end, the problem with the power cable not being recognised had absolutely nothing to do with FakeSMC vs. VirtualSMC (well, almost...) Turns out that it was the Macs Fan Control app that was interfering with the power managing kexts. Once closed everything worked as expected...

<< Solved >> Dell 7577 Monterey not recognising battery charger disconnected

I think I found the solution: Apparently, the problem is related to VirtualSMC's handling of the battery. I replaced it with FakeSMC and the OS now immediately recognises changes with the power cable. However, as so often, it is a trade-off: VirtualSMC did a fantastic job of recognising the...

<< Solved >> Dell 7577 Monterey not recognising battery charger disconnected

Dear fellow hackintoshers, I am currently working on setting up Monterey on the Dell Inspiron 7577 and facing a strange issue that I could not pin down. Whenever I power up the computer with the power cord attached it will not recognise if I subsequently disconnect it. The battery still shows...

<< Solved >> Dell 7577: what framebuffer settings to enable both DP and HDMI output?

The problem is finally solved! To future me and anybody with a similar setup: I had to set platform-id and device-id to 591B0000 and, most importantly, to set agdpmod=vit9696 as a boot argument to enable HDMI out. Thereafter I applied the patch that I found worked with DP out while trying out...

<< Solved >> Dell 7577: what framebuffer settings to enable both DP and HDMI output?

Dear Feartech, I have re-read the guide, as well as the Whatevergreen documentation, and tried to follow them to the best of my abilities. Here are my findings: a platform-id of 59160000 will enable DP out on connector 1 by default. The properties of that output are 01050A00 00040000 87010000...

<< Solved >> Dell 7577: what framebuffer settings to enable both DP and HDMI output?

Thank you for your suggestions! I have changed my config file accordingly, but I'm still only getting DP out on framebuffer 1: If it helps as an additional information, I remember that with the framebuffer type set to 591B0000 the HDMI out appeared on framebuffer 2.

<< Solved >> Dell 7577: what framebuffer settings to enable both DP and HDMI output?

As a side note: the device properties section now includes some framebuffer patches which I have copied from a similar config. With this setup I am only getting the Display Port out (despite the platform-id being 591B0000).

<< Solved >> Dell 7577: what framebuffer settings to enable both DP and HDMI output?

Dear fellow hackintoshers, I have recently upgraded my laptop to Monterey using OpenCore as a bootloader. An issue I cannot currently get past is enabling both the HDMI and USB-C (display port) for video output. If I use framebuffer type 59160000 or 59160009 only the DP port will work, while...

[SOLVED] Dell 7577 ACPI errors, cannot boot

turns out: a) I was rather naive to think that replacing an internal keyboard would not affect ACPI tables - I am still not sure why this would happen, but the error messages should have rung a bell. b) After redoing the patches to my DSDT and the SSDT affecting the eGPU _INI method (for me...

[SOLVED] Dell 7577 ACPI errors, cannot boot

Dear fellow hackintoshers, After a few years of successful use of my dual boot laptop, I had to replace the keyboard, as some keys had connection issues. After the replacement, I started my High Sierra drive a first time and everything went smooth. I started the system a second time and I...

[Solved] HDMI Audio on Dell Inspiron 7577 (intel 630 igpu)

off the top of my head I would suggest to check the SMBIOS settings. In my case it worked out of the box with Macbook Air 6,2. Also, I have no idea if you are using conflicting kexts or what your config file looks like. If you need serious help though it will probably be better to start a new...

[Solved] HDMI Audio on Dell Inspiron 7577 (intel 630 igpu)

Dear amjmusic, I am glad to share my clover files which have been serving me well for several months now. However I cannot assure you that I myself have followed the "best practices" and that my setup is completely flawless. You will also have to do your own research for the DSDT and SSDT...

[SOLVED] wake causes freeze/panic in Dell 7577

Another thing to add to my "must read" list! RehabMan, I am amazed by your untiring perseverance in stepping me through the whole process of setting up this machine. I went from having nothing, to be able to work and enjoy my new system and I owe it all to you. But more importantly, the time...
