Hi guys,
I'm in the process to upgrade to Sonoma with my machine (ASUS PRO ART Z690 as my signature) as soon as the 14.4 version will be out and, most likely I'd go for OCLP, to have my Broadcom working with it. As I know the SIP must be partially disabled with this solution, I'm asking you all...
I was on 1.3.33 myself... but, for no reason, I had sleep problems with cable attached. Now I've cleaned and reset the NVRAM and I launched Onyx for rebuilding OS services and things are again OK with AQ-113S: sleep working.
I'm "happy" that @CaseySJ have the same problem with from USB-C port...
@CaseySJ I don't know if this is pertinent or not but after the last Ventura update (now i'm on v. 13.6.4) the old problems of the Asus ProArt Z690 have been back:
System doesn't go to sleep if Aquantia ETH is connected, and
Front USB-C port goes to disconnection before connecting in stable...
Hi guys,
I'm in the process to upgrade to Sonoma with my machine (same as @CaseySJ) as soon as the 14.3 version will be out and, most likely I'd go for OCLP, to have my Broadcom working with it. As I know the SIP must be partially disabled with this solution, I'm asking you all if there are...
I've updated my ProArt z690's BIOS to v. 2802 and AQC-113CS to firmware v. 1.3.33 from Dell site. And I'm pretty happy with results: I was able to apply tighter timings to my G.Skill (4*16GB 6600Mhz) and undervolt the CPU as well! :-)
I will test USB-C 3.2 gen2x2 port very soon and report back.
I'm trying to connect the Asus Z690 Pro Art working under Windows 10 (with Thunderbolt drivers downloaded from its Asus repository) to my MacBookPro M1 Pro and... no joy at all... I have an Intel certified TH4 cable but nothing happens at all ! :thumbdown ... for a second the "Thunderbolt...
@CaseySJ I have another SSD with Windows 10 on, and I mounted on my ProArt Z690. But OC 097 doesn't get recognized as I see only the Mac partition at boot. Is there any quirk or flag specific to dual boot with Windows? Found the culprit ... the ScanPolicy quirk should have been changed!
:mrgreen::thumbup:
Just for sharing files, indeed!
I have already built an Xpenology rig and I'm particularly happy with that but it's a 2nd level NAS (it means it serves as backup); nowadays I'm relying heavily on Gen4 PCIEx NVMes which can transfer stuff at around 5/6000MB/s (while in cache...
I haven't tried myself but I guess you can get 20Gbps bi-directional, which makes sense for the declared speed of 40gbps. Maybe this link could be useful: https://chrisbergeron.com/2021/07/25/ultra-fast-thunderbolt-nas-with-apple-m1-and-linux/
