Since eBay is no longer available in my country(India), I'll buy one from Amazon to fulfil the need. I've a mSATA with 32 GB SSD(ubuntu), another one 320 GB HDD(storage+mac), current options available for me with my laptops are : Replace HDD with an SSD Replace mSATA with an SSD Replace DVD...

I'm skeptical about going for an upgrade as my laptop would bite the dust soon

Seems like a significant difference is single core results. 30%+ difference where as multi core score seems to be ok-ish 18-19% difference. Could this be because of hardware being used for long ? :p Note - I'm using a HDD not a SSD

Even I'm not sure about that :) I don't use card reader and other un-essential stuffs included in my laptop :lol: But seems like there is a lag while using OS X, is it expected in Ivy Bridge laptops with 8 GB DDR3 :crazy:

@Feartech Is there anything else I should check if it's working in my laptop?

Update: After installing VoodooHDA audio and wifi started working! Cheers

@serdeliuk How did you managed to get audio? I tried adding patching AppleALC using compiled kext with adding our audio codec, but documentation seems to be outdated and I'm not getting anywhere -_-

Update: Documentation is outdated for adding codec support in AppleALC. CodecLookup.plist no longer exists in the repository, I believe it's renamed as Controllers.plist but not sure. And finding difficult to proceed with the steps mentioned in the Wiki.

I'll allocate myself some time sparing for try adding support in AppleALC, if it's eating up too much time and I'm nowhere near then I would end up using VoodooHDA! Let's see! I'll update the thread with the progress.

I've tried all the layout id's for IDT92HD91BXX, none of them are working with open core. I assume it could be because of the rebranding of audio controller. I might end up using VoodooHDA, don't we need to move EFI to Mac OS drive from USB for it?

Did you do it? I'm having the same codec IDT 92HD94

Thanks @serdeliuk and @Feartech for all the help.. It's late for me, I would be adding kexts to my usb EFI as recommended and updating my config.plist. Just one more doubt, so every time I would be needing the USB to boot into Mac os?

Just to verify, i have successfully done initial boot to my hackintosh. Now I need to copy kexts to my EFI partition and reboot Mac os and..?
