Thanks, you were right. I fixed it by disabling the nVidia GPU in the ACPI tables.

Also, one more thing to note. If I put the display to sleep the GPU hangs as well. Update: nevermind pmset displaysleep doesn't hang the gpu

That wouldn't explain why Sleep/Wake works properly on 10.14 whenever I use safeboot mode with minimal graphics acceleration.

Could whatevergreen be causing issues with sleep/wake? I've tried patching the skylake framebuffer using FBPatcher. Also, Sleep worked fine on 10.12 and 10.13. So this definitely doesn't seem to be related to ACPI patching.

Hey, I have this same exact motherboard. I have everything working besides sleep as well. Let me know if you figured out how to fix this. Update: I just figured out how to fix this, sleep and shutdown work flawlessly for the most part.

I was asking because previously the intelbacklight kext allowed a 20% lower backlight range. Not sure if there is anyway to override the value or if it is permanently set in Apple's backlight kext design.

Thanks for this, everything works perfectly on 10.12.6. I just was wondering what value to use to set the minimum brightness 20% lower. The maximum slider value is fine, but I am having issues figuring out which hex value to use for the lower boundary.
