Okay, I took the graphics card out. Instead of going to the blank gray screen, it's not making it to the apple logo with the monochromatic spiral beneath. It spins for about a minute, then freezes. Here's a screen of where it hangs when I boot with -v. Whatcha think...

strange...it used to keep the images the same size, now it's compressing them whenever I insert them.
