I think this terminal command is what worked for me: sudo softwareupdate --clear-catalog Though I also just intuitively deleted the stub installer first, so can't really say if it was the terminal command or deleting the file that did the trick.

The method posted by suzxee1234 worked for me to fix audio. The pre-patch_hda.sh link in the guide doesn't seem to lead to anything relavant, at least as far as I can understand it.

I thought FakeSMC.kext was essential, or at least it's implied by the clover laptop guide(along with VoodooPS2Controller). So is FakeSMC.kext not the same thing as FakesSMC sensor plugins?
