yes, i can confirm the fix to be working too, two very long sleep cycles with no wakeup (8 hours and 12 hours) Finally i can use my USB Speakers again :)

it seemed to work for me. A scheduled "userwake" in the morning occured, no wakes at night and no more CSPNEvaluation wake requests are set. @sourcelocation you rebooted after you made your changes?

@jaymonkey nice find. So sonoma disregards disabled powernap. I think it's as a bug, who tells Apple when Apple disregards Feedback?

@jaymonkey i updated my feedback report at apple with the new investigations. I guess it won't help, as they haven't answered my last feedbacks for over 2 years but it's worth a try. My USB peripherals turned on every hour is really unbearable :(

@jaymonkey i guess we need to dig in to powerd as it seems to schedule these new wakes besides/outside of the schedule system which is controllable via pmset (e.g. pmset repeat cancel) Maybe some powerd plist setting which we can influence?

@tedyun could be possible. Have you tried turning off iMessage in sonoma?

@jaymonkey nice find! This CSPNEvaluation is the reason for the hourly wakes in sonoma. Now we need to find out how to stop it. These hourly wake schedules can"t be cancelled with pmset sched cancel. Bug or feature, only apple knows i guess.

which mac are you using? Intel or Applesilicon?

I got my hourly wakeup issues fixed with the guide from post #1 I updated to macOS sonoma 14.1 and the issue came back, sadly not fixable using the ventura guide. It seems apple changed some things regarding the hourly wakeup. Did anyone already find out how to stop sonomas insomnia? sleep log...

yes, the ports are showing up correctly and perform normal. I guess it‘s a usb-mass-storage (kext) problem?

After many tries to get the NVRAM deleted, i figured out that you need to reboot (select reboot within clover menu) to get the NVRAM deleted after pressing f11. I thought pressing f11 and booting afterwards was enough. It's not. If you don't reboot after f11, the "old" NVRAM is restored.
