I am missing the source right now but i read somewhere that ice lake enabled laptops have wifi embedded in the processor.
If true does that mean that now intel wifi will be supported from catalina?
@R055 the model I have is the 4 cores one (7390 late 2019, i7-10510U ).
Still holding back going that way because it seems that trackpad audio and of course wifi have issues.
Extra bad also that to have WiFi in the end we will need a dongle to have USB wifi
Anyone working on this? what would be a nice starting guide that is close enough for this machine?
This guide is for a laptop with the same cpu
https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/wip-catalina-on-hp-envy-13-10th-gen-i7-10510u.288280/
anyone tried it?
unfortunately I still get some screen glitches (mostly green frames) on my NUC8i7BEH with Samsung evo 970 plus with upgraded firmware
On the bright side I have no random reboots
My screen is a 4k one so I am pretty sure that is the reason why.
is there any known solution for 4k monitors?
@Leesureone thanks for supporting this thread.
Had many glitches and random reboots following the main guide but replacing my EFI folder with the one
you provided it just solved the issue it seems.
(NUC8i7BEH with Samsung evo 970 plus with upgraded firmware)
It seems that I was over engineering something.
After a fresh install,
using your HD4400 plist,
the frame buffer device properties from your y50 config_UHD.plist
lilu.kext and
whatevergreen.kext
I was finally able to get it to work.
I am attaching my debug report in case someone else...
Was thinking of trying the whole thing once more with
Your hd4400 config.plist
fakepciid
fake Intel hd graphics
intelgraphics fixup
and lilu
(Sorry for the partial naming, I'm on my phone now)
Would the above even work or for Mojave or whatevergreen is the only way?
It seems like I will have to live with 21mb vram.
I got into a setting where I just got the very broken login screen.
Any idea why the device id freaks it out and gets it to kernel panic?
I got no luck on finding how to set framebuffer patches to match 128mb of DVMT-prealloc
<key>framebuffer-cursormem</key>
<key>framebuffer-fbmem</key>
<key>framebuffer-stolenmem</key>
<key>framebuffer-unifiedmem</key>
Which of the Framebuffer properties corresponds to that one?
By framebuffer patching you mean config.plist->device->properties->framebuffer-* right?
Do I have to go with an msbios from MacBook pro or qhd will work with MacBook air also?
