    [SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

Figured out the missing audio/USB devices on DSB1. Turns out using the UI to generate the DROM doesn't active port 5. Manually generated the DROM after enabling port 5 fixes this issue. Still have the missing device tree when a device is attached, but it's progress.

    [SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

@CaseySJ I was excited to try the x1c6 firmware patch but have run into a few issues. The firmware flashed just fine and I see IOThunderboltPort@5 in explorer The thunderbolt bus also shows in System Info. Hotplugging a CalDigit appears to connect ok, and monitor passthru etc works, however...

[Guide] Intel Framebuffer patching using WhateverGreen

I've been down that path, and get an (0000008) error when using setup_var. I've seen other reports of error (00001a), but assume that this means the BIOS is preventing any UEFI updates. I couldn't find any reference to setup_var result codes that would help troubleshoot further.

[Guide] Intel Framebuffer patching using WhateverGreen

@headkaze I still have the issue with my external monitor not supporting 4K resolution despite the enable-hdmi20 property. Unfortunately, my laptop does not allow DVMT-prealloc settings or UEFI changes due to BIOS restrictions and I am forced to use the stolen etc. properties. I did take a look...

Yes, sad story.. I meant the discussion tapered off.

    pastrychef's Asus ROG Strix Z370-G Gaming (WI-FI AC) build w/ i9-9900K + AMD 6600 XT

That's what I was thinking, but was waiting to re-run the same test on the MBP. There's an interesting long read in the comments section on Piker's old site regarding incorrect USB 3.1 reported speeds that somewhat tapers off without a resolution. Here's a link...

    pastrychef's Asus ROG Strix Z370-G Gaming (WI-FI AC) build w/ i9-9900K + AMD 6600 XT

Thanks. The Maximus X Hero is actually using a different chip for USB 3.1, the ASM2142 chip. Anyhow, throughout all this frustration I found out the cable was bad which caused the USB2 speeds... Fixed that, and now the SSD shows up at USB 3.0 speeds (5gb/sec) and running the disk speed test I...

    pastrychef's Asus ROG Strix Z370-G Gaming (WI-FI AC) build w/ i9-9900K + AMD 6600 XT

I originally posted a question over in Stork's thread but haven't had a response. I'm using the Maximus Hero X board which is obviously pretty similar to the mATX board in this thread, and having issues with the speed on the USB 3.1 ports. The setup is pretty much identical to that listed here...

    Stork's MyHero II Build: ASUS ROG MAXIMUS Z370 HERO X - i7-8700K - AMD RX 580 - Thunderbolt 3

I noticed someone earlier mentioned that the USB 3.1 ports are running at USB 2 speeds. I have the same issue but didn't see any response. I've put a screenshot from IORegistryExplorer and the USB section of About this Mac. I see the same low speed regardless of whether it's attached to the Type...

    Slow wifi after sleep

Got it. As I mentioned in my post above, this is a natively recognized BCM943602CS Broadcom card (as used in MacBooks) via a PCIE 1x adapter in a desktop that is supporting bluetooth in the BIOS, about as compatible as I can think of. This combo is producing the same symptoms across 3 mb's I've...

    Slow wifi after sleep

The fix is to disable the functionality. As I would like to use the Wake on network functionality, is there a known card/combo that supports this capability without losing wifi speed? Is a DSDT fix remotely possible?

    Slow wifi after sleep

@RehabMan I've encountered the same slow wifi after wake with a BCM43602CS natively supported card on an X99 platform (and verified the same behavior on a Z270 board). CrashReporter is also filled with driver crashes for the chip on every wake. Everything else about this platform is working...

[Guide] Airport - PCIe Half Mini v2

@RehabMan. I am successfully using a BCM943602CS with a PCI-E adapter and have Handoff, Unlock with Apple Watch etc. all working successfully. I also have USBInjectAll tailored to my MB with the internal USB port used for BT marked internal (255). Also added Toleda's SSDT to correctly identify...

    Gigabyte Thunderbolt 3 Mobos

Ok, the issue with F20/21 BIOS (F21 came out this week), is that Gigabyte has now locked one of the MSR's so you need to use the KernelPm patch in Clover.

    Gigabyte Thunderbolt 3 Mobos

ALMart, I have the same board. Did you update your BIOS to the new F20 that was released a couple of weeks ago? Ever since I did that I can't boot into Sierra on any drive (USB, SATA, NVMe). Same BIOS settings as before, but after Clover loads and all the ++++ appear on the screen it either...
