I have used this software on Windows but I didn't think of looking into its source. I'm good with C# so I will go ahead, thanks!
Then this is what I need to do ...
Thanks for the information and your time ...
I see. So I should just make note of it and modify or totally replace it to suit my laptop, right?
I understand. My concern is the scale of the resulting fan speeds. Your code uses fan control table FTAB to do the mapping but how the numbers for fan control byte were calculated? monitored...
Hello Rehabman,
I was wondering about the formula you are using in ProBook fan patches to calculate the fan speed using fan control byte value in FAN0 method:
Method (FAN0, 0, Serialized)
{
Store (\_SB.PCI0.LPCB.EC0.FRDC, Local0)
If (Local0) { Divide (Add(0x3C000...
I think that patch has other side effects that I don't like. Out of a sudden, Opera refused to open any page even the speed dial and freeze on closing. Movies that used to work fine with MplayerX or QuickTime Player Stopped working and the apps themselves freeze on closing too. Once I removed...
I don't use it as well but for the sake of evaluating the proposed patch to fix the crash, yes the patch works pretty well and videos on The Verge on Safari does not crash anymore.
So either drop the prefpane altogether and use ioio to keep the functionality, or to use 10.11 prefpane with an approach like the one I proposed which is not the best but still functional. For myself I will go for the latter. thanks for mentioning ioio, I had no idea you created a nice tool like...
This would change the settings just fine but the prefpane will not read the changes. Yes we care for the effect in the first place but any way to sync the changes made by ioio with the prefpane? like a force reread ?
I made a workaround for this that I' happy to share. I thought of creating an AppleScript to:
Silently (not visible) Open Trackpad Prefpan in System Preferences and uncheck "Clicking"
Close System Preferences
Silently (not visible) Re-open Trackpad Prefpan in System Preferences and check...
That's brilliant !!
I did not know about the listing capability of iasl and used to use Hex Fiend to search for patterns which could be painful sometimes. It works now perfectly, thanks!
Hi Rehabman, everyone ..
I have been working on converting to SSDT-HACK method on my laptop Y510p. Things are going fine so far and the only thing that refuse to work at the moment is sleep on lid close. To achieve this, I used to remove the _PRW from the device LID0 but I'm failing to do so...
Yes I'm aware of that. I'm not saying that I'm an expert but I believe I can do it with some patience, reading and a bit of help.
EDIT:
Just got it working although still needs some improvements which I will work on. Still your guide will be a breakthrough even if it would be for experts only.
Sorry to wake a bit old thread but the link is not leading to the expected page. I believe some content have been removed as I also failed to follow topics or posts for member zaid.riadh on this forum (his account might got disabled). Anywhere else to get a bit more information about the...
