Trouble-free upgrade using combo updater, ASUS Z87-PRO. Had to reapply TRIM patch as expected. I have two displays running off an NVIDIA 760 and their desktop arrangement was reversed after the reboot, but that was easily fixed.
Thought I'd come back and update the continuing tale of woe that is the GA-Z87-UD5H.
After installing the second UD5H, things went well for a couple of weeks - one or two complete system lockups in OS X, none in Win7.
After that, I pulled two of the DIMMs, which seemed to eliminate the...
I exchanged the motherboard (thanks Amazon!) for a new one.
Since the reinstall 3 days ago, not a single lockup (knock on wood). I've been running BOINC tasks on the OS X side continuously, and booted over to Win7 for a few hours worth of Black Ops 2 (I figure those are decent workouts)...
@akma
Thanks for replying!
Here's why I think the problem isn't actually RAM. When I started the build, I popped the 2 8GB DIMMs into my older Hackintosh (P55A-UD3) and memtest'd them, they came up clean. Now, about a week later, I just re-tested them and errors galore. So they're...
Just wanted to chip in and state that it's definitely not just an issue for those with all 4 DIMMs installed. I have 2x 8GB Corsair Vengeance onboard and have had this issue since I finished the build earlier this week. Sometimes 3 hours uptime, sometimes 10 minutes.
I am dual-booting...
I use a DLink DWA-556 wifi adapter (newegg item #N82E16833127218) with this mobo and am very happy with it. Shows up as AirPort, good reception.
I tried a few different USB wifi adapters and was pretty unhappy with all of them.
I had the same problem, with both ASUS and Cirago dongles. Nothing I did brought them back - I didn't try a reinstallation of 10.6.4, but that was about all I didn't try. I got a Targus ACB10US and that worked OOB, also enabling BT wake-from-sleep in the bargain.
However at that point when...
Finally got around to doing the update - a little bumpy:
Installed 10.6.5 Combo to victim drive running 10.6.3:
- Rebooted after update installation OK. USB devices OK. Bluetooth "not available".
- Sleep induced the fans-on-full coma and audio not working. Multibeast and AudioRollback fixed...
Just wanted to also say thanks here, was struggling mightily with sleep but your DSDT solved both that and speedstep in one go. Thanks for posting it!!
