Hey all, so just to show that I've done my homework I tried following a couple of guides to get a dual-boot up and running and have failed miserably. The first time I managed to put my (otherwise well running Hack job) G5 mod into a state of suspended animation power-cycling on and off, I don't...
You know, turning off the GraphicsEnabler hadn't been working at all and then I just updated to the new Multibeast 5.4 featured on the homepage of Tony86 and set the GE = No. Restarted...and it friggin' worked this time!
Seems to be running like a champ...to the OP, possibly try doing the full...
BUMP on this. I have a GTX 650 Ti Boost SC and also trying to troubleshoot setup on a recently setup hackintosh with the update to 10.8.4
Anyone? Bueller?
Been a slow month on the Hackintosh since getting OSX installed. I got around to ordering a DVD-RW so that I can setup my dual-boot with Windows 7 and also procured a copy of 7. I've only used the Hack Pro mildly in the last couple weeks since I've been gone so much but I'm kinda bumming on the...
So, after a two frustrating days of being only partially able to work on the install I finally had a big breakthrough when I realized I had to physically remove the Graphics Card and I am now the proud owner of a fully functioning Hack Pro G5. I'm about to head out on a week of vacation, but...
So, a long but rewarding process...I'm running OSX 10.8 in full HDMI with no hiccups and was able to boot without unibeast. Booyah. Thanks to everyone for their help, now just creating a HDD clone and going to update to 10.8.3 and then figure out getting my EVGA GTX 650 Ti Boost card installed...
Yeah, temporarily...so if I accidnetally install RealTek drivers that I didn't mean to and the system kernel panics, how can I get out of that cycle in the boot so I can delete the drivers and re-install?
This is turning into a live update of my trial and error here, but I finally got the OSX installed. I think my mistakes before were simply not accurately labeling the boot drive vs the OS drive, after rebooting from the last white screen I was able to enter the typical setup details like...
I'm still working away on this one. I'm continuing to get that white screen and gray square freeze-out with about 4 minutes left on the OSX install screen.
I must be missing something in the BIOS setup here or the boot commands. Any thoughts are welcome!
Absolutely, everyone has been super helpful so far and appreciate all this ongoing input - so, I added my system configuration info and hopefully that shows up. I went through the Mountain Lion install process and at the end of that it showed a white screen with a grey box...paused for maybe 20...
So, I just used that configuration I posted and it went to the installer...booyah. Will update everyone as I progress here and then also post my system configuration after.
I'm assuming that's some sort of signature on my profile, huh? Total newb here :-x
Posting this here more for my benefit than anything but I think I found some answers to what I have going on here:
MSI Install
You will need to remove the GTX5770 while you attemp to install OSX
You may want to use a modded BIOS for this install - http://biosrepo.wordpress.com/msi/
Your...
Okay, I will give that a try next - I am still in a failure loop trying to install OSX with Unibeast after updating the BIOS with that previous method. I get the greyed out screen and "You need to restart your computer" message.
I've tried doing a safe boot and a no graphics enabler boot, both...
So, I'm getting this message when I try to patch and I can't seem to identify a new file that's been patched...sorry, total newb here. If I don't include the "PATCHED" extension at the end of the terminal command, it does say an output file has been generated and the existing bios updates with...
