    G5 Conversion

You need to either do the wiring yourself or buy a premade adapter cable. I used the cable from http://g5atxcables.weebly.com/g5-atx-adapter-cables.html, who supports both types of IO boards you will find in the G5. The G5 had a slightly front IO refresh around 2005 where it changed connector...

Could you show a picture of the back? Also curious what you changed on the monitor. Did you change the stand?

    G5 Fans

Wow, you really delivered on the tutorial! This actually sounds so much easier and more straight forward than I had expected from similar attempts. I'm going to give this a try ASAP, thank you so much! Also definitely interesting that the B8 has the same stator, guess I didn't need to buy a...

    G5 Fans

That makes a lot of sense! I do have the aforementioned Noctua fans (NF-B9 redux 1600 PWM) so I suppose it should be a lot easier. Would you happen to know if any (somewhat) detailed instructions exist on disassembly of these specific fans? I suppose it is not as easy as simply pulling the fan...

    G5 Fans

Just to clarify, how do you mean that the fans can be pulled out without drilling? If you can't do it by pulling the fan blades off from the front (which I believe you said wasn't how you did it), then how else could you get to the stator without drilling into the back? Perhaps I have...

    G5 Fans

Do you mean pulling the fan blades off? I gave it a try with Arctic F9 fans by drilling the back out, which did work but eventually got stuck with an inner bearing that I couldn't remove. I read your posts on the German forum, your project looked great!

    G5 Fans

Thanks for your detailed reply! I'm going to give it a try with another fan I have laying around, an Arctic F9 PWM PST fan. Just to put some info out there, I believe that pretty much every fan that touts a long-life fan (bearing) trait means it'll be sealed. Some say it more explicitly by...

    GIGABYTE Z490 VISION D + I9 10900K + 64GB Ballistix - in a Apple MacPro 1,1 CASE :D

Thanks for your reply. I think I'll try to work something out with a small amplifier board.

Could you share your experience of swapping the motor and board? I’ve had terrible luck with finding fans where the back isn’t sealed with solid plastic so you can’t take them apart.

You mentioned you rewired the internal PC case speaker, did you actually end up using it for anything?

    Lenovo Thinkpad T440p

Hey guys. About to try an install on my T440P. I'm wondering however whether you have to use the OP's method to install OSX, involving a Macbook, or if you can use the traditional install done on other laptops and PCs. Any chance somebody can explain that to me? Thanks in advance.
