[solved] Gigabyte ga-b75m-d3v ver 2.0 BIOS FC

I am sort of new to this. Been a while since I read about the customac in this site. Tried my hand on this few days ago..below are my specs:

- Intel i5-3330 processor
- Gigabyte ga-B75M-d3v ver 2.0 BIOS FC
- 2 x 2 GB DDR3 1600 RAM
- Asus GTX560ti 1024MB Top CUII
- 160GB SATA HDD

BIOS settings:
vt-d - disable (else it will boot with blank screen)
Internal IGPX - enable
IGPX - 64mb

I have created usb installer with unibeast. No problem in this part.

Okay, after a few experimentation, I found out that my internal graphics HD2500 need to be enabled or else OS X will boot into a black screen which is typical with most GTX560ti cards.

Luckily I have 2 monitor. I plug in one to internal and one to external. BIOS set to boot with internal graphics first. So OS X startup screen will run in internal screen and then the full GUI will start in the GTX560ti. Internal screen will freeze at apple screen with the spinning logo. Not big deal there for now.

I then did multibeast - no dsdt.

Sound doesn't work
installed sound card with ALC887/888b no-dsdt drivers. Doesn't work with both legacy or current.

Network doesn't work
installed as suggested Lnx2Mac Realtek network drivers. Doesn't work as well. I can setup manual IP into the NIC but no network connections.

Other strange error/bugs:
CPUID not identified error

Would appreciate it is anyone can shed some light into debugging those problems...especially the network. Cause now I have to switch hdd between my windows and os x.

ok, I tried to re-install the whole thing again.

This time I installed RTL8169 drivers instead and it works!!! However, I notice that when I change to manual IP, I had to reboot the PC in order for the IP to work.

Also, sound works as well!! I selected no-dsdt alc887/888b-current. Also slightly lower the options for 3 ports. As my motherboard only have 3 ports for pluggin audio. However, the output jack is detected wrongly. Is there a way to adjust this?

Anyway, more things for me to fix such as the dual-monitor. Hope it all will work and I will have a fully functional osx.

Good to know that you have made some progress on the ethernet and audio. Can I suggest that if you have not already done so to use Disk Utility and repair permissions on your HDD/SSD

awesome! more positive progress to report.

After a bit more tested more things get fixed:
- NTFS read/write fixed by adding fstab. But there are problems which I will post in another thread
- display working on GTX560ti by adding command GraphicsEnabler=No at startup (not my internal display is disabled in BIOS)

Running repair permissions fix as suggested now.

Here is to report more things working.

- NTFS write supports sucks for os x by default. If you absolutely must have NTFS write then best to buy third party software like paragon or tuxego. Else do it like me format to exFAT.
- I read a lot about GTX560ti problem in this forum and other hackintosh forum. It got me confused about os x support for this card. However, since 10.8.2 apple already release proper drivers to support GTX560ti. So most cards should be able to work OOB. I made a lot of wrong turns going into wrong way to fix boot up problems and sleep problems with this card. Just add graphics enabler=yes and it will be sufficient.
- sleep/wake issue - you need to go into BIOS do this: REFERENCE
- Init display first: PEG
- Enable Internal graphics: Yes (even though you don't use it)
- Internal graphics standby mode: No
- Internal graphics deep sleep: No
- dualboot is easy just plug in back your old windows drive and chimera will be able to detect it automatically. You can choose which to boot in startup.

I think my os x mavericks is 90% like a mac. Totally happy with it and hope my post here will help others in their quest for hackintosh using this motherboard.

Please ask me anything if you have problem using this board. I will try to help as much as possible.

Hi abubin,

I have the same MB and have plans to install os x 10.9. Did your system now fully functional, primarily referring to the MB?

Thx.

sorry for the late reply as I have sort of abandoned using osx. I am using dualboot to osx and windows. Mostly I am running windows because I have so many things in windows that I absolutely need to use. Today I just rebooted back to osx and everything seems to be still in good shape.

As for your question, YES. I am running in OSX with almost 95% faultless. Only problem is with the sleepmode not working well which I already completely disabled. I don't need my PC to sleep as I am running in desktop. There are also a few freezes here and there but those are very rare and only happens like once every week or even less. Also I am at 10.9.1 now. Perhaps I would update to 10.9.2 later or not. Not so important for me now as I am using windows more than osx.

Let me know if you have any specified problems with your installation. If you have a spare hdd around, you can just try it out with that HDD. So that you can already fallback to your windows if need to.

Hi. I have the same mothreboard ( but version 1.1.) I install Maverick 10.9.2. One big problem instead. No sound. I have tried differnt solution using Multibeats but no succes. Any suggestion? Thanks in advance.

Problem solved :)
