very easy install on this p8z77-v pro
1. patched asus bios using the tools from biosrepo (note: i had to first install and old bios firmware from asus website first. then i was able to get the patched firmware on, it seems that the newer bios have a protection, where the older bios do not)
http://biosrepo.wordpress.com/2013/02/20/how-to-flash-unsupported-motherboards-via-ftk-and-dos/
2. prepare usb drive using unibeast and free mavericks install from the app store
3. boot from usb and start install of mavericks
4. boot from usb once again, but this time choose the drive you just installed to
5. run multi beast with the following options
QUICK START: -dsdt free (will add a bunch of options to make boot, speedster, hibernate)
DRIVERS:
audio > realtek > without dsdt > alc 892
network > intel hank's intel e1000
system > patched appleintelcpupowermanagement> OSX 10.9 (drop-down triangle to show)
6. reboot and enjoy working system!
one minor problem came up once complete was the DVD-rom would spin up checking to see if there was a disk every minute or so,
but I was able to fix this by going to system preferences > energy saver > 'uncheck put hard disks to sleep when possible'
im not sure why it does this if anyone knows a better solution please let me know
