I succeeded in installing Mac OS on my laptop, thank you so much Rehabman for your wholehearted help and your patient! I had tired and had been stopping doing this for a week, then I borrowed the win8 CD installer from my friend and started doing what you said and I made it.

However, in order to boot into Mac OS, I have to use the clover usb and my keyboard, trackpad, sound, wifi,.. haven't worked (I have to use the mouse and keyboard plugged in usb port. So can you help me with these? I intend to use multibeast, but I doubt that my hardware is not fit with those provided in multibeast. In addition, the effect of the bar below and I launch any app is none. Also, when it turns to the desktop of Mac I can see the black gaps when it changing the frames, I guess it's because I don't have the appropriate graphic driver installed yet but the info system recognized my hd graphic hd 4600 graphic card.

Your questions are more appropriate for the laptop forum.

RehabMan,

I just wanted to give you a personal thank you for your post #13 about fixing the EFI partition. It saved me from the hole of frustration and hours of time-wasting that I was currently stuck in. Thank you so much!!

Dale

PS: I'd PM you but the rules don't allow it haha.

Post #13 is only part of the story, but glad it helped.

hey man, i know you're very good at this so i thought i may ask you two questions....
1) i have the a gpt hdd that only has 100mb and is second now i know how to fix this i.e. make an efi >200mb and first however this will require to reformat the hdd which has w8 installed, is there a way to do this without complete reformat i.e. just manually deleting the efi and creating a new one using some sort of software
2) im following 'the guide' of installing yosemite in my y50-70 however my version of the laptop has the atheros ar956x wlan instead of the intel now this is good as the intel wlan is not supported, so its my wlan supported n thats that means this guide is no longer for me i.e. i need to do other things instead to get everything working i.e. bluetooth

thank you man, n ill understand if you're too busy because im basically looking for someone to assist in in installing yosemite for my laptop i will then write up a clear guide for the rest of the world

AR956x is not supported and must be replaced with compatible hardware.

thanks 4 the replay bro i have a laptop with ar9285 so i think i will replace it with this one. then it should be fully compatible as ar3012 bleutooth is compactible

Hello,

I read all of this thread but still confused about changing the EFI partition in the disk. I have a Windows 8.1 installed Asus njk550 and while keeping Windows, I want to install OS X Yosemite and dual boot them. I do not want to lose the original recovery partition on my disk. EFI part is 100mb now, and I know I need to increase its volume at least 200mb. Is there any way doing this without losing recovery partitons? Is it enough just deleting 128mb MSR and adding its volume to previous EFI partition to create new >200mb EFI partition? Below is my disk info,

Thanks.
