Does anyone have managed to get a sleep/wake up working normally (screen + disks etc) with this Mobo ?
I have just made two builds using Z97-A with i5/i7 and the only problem I still have is the sleep/wake up issue... it goes to sleep, but doesn't wake up, screen stays black. Using a Microsoft wireless (through usb dongle) mouse/keyboard. Have read a lot of threads, have tried various solutions but no success yet... :banghead:

Hey man, can you tell if you used a 9xx series card in your builds? And if you also used clover instead of chameleon?
If so can you tell me how you did it? Because I'm kinda stuck in the installer screen.
Thanks!

No sorry, I've build a i5 4690k - Z97 A - 16Gb ddr3 - 2 SSD 840 evo and NO GPU (I'm not using those for gaming) and another one same configuration but with i7 4790k and a Asus GTX770. Both are working fine, with win8-osx dual boot etc.... The GTX770 is working fine oob.
I've used Chameleon on both.
I'll create a post with these builds when I'll have some free time.

Only issue I still have is the Sleep/Wake problem, I've tried with darkwake=no, but doesn't work yet, that's why I'm asking here, for this specific Asus Z97A

Problems with USB

I followed this guide. Thanx for all your work. I came to a close success ….

For i had no 10.9.4 complete install, i started with 10.9.0 and did a combo update to10.9.4, running same MultiBeast tunings afterwards.
Now I do have clear instability on the internal USB 3.0 ports, drives are lost, etc. Further it seems that only 2 of the four external USB 3.0 ports are recognized and working properly. All the rest is working as 2.0 USB.

Any suggestions, what to do? Also activating universal USB 3.0 from multi beast didn't give any success.

Thanks for any replies

Hello,

Could someone sum up what would be the required multibeast (7.2.0) options for OSX10.10.2 running on a Z97-a MB (using HD4600 graphics).

Unibeast 5.1 works flawlessly to install 10.10.2 without any problem but I can't figure out the proper multibeast options (I found many treads for Z97-a but they are all a bit old and recommend "obsolete" settings and fixes).

Thanks a lot in advance for your help.
Best,

Did you install yosemite?
Could you share your multibeast settings?

A lot of water has gone over the damn in the seven months since tonymacx86 wrote his original post as has my guide which he referenced in the original post of this build description. Here's the MultiBeast for Yosemite configuration I'd recommend using tonymacx86's original post:
Quick Start > DSDT-Free
Drivers > Audio > Realtec ALCxxx > ALC892
Drivers > Network > Intel > AppleIntelE1000e
This should get you started. Note that the DSDT-Free option loads a set of drivers/kexts; see page 3 in the MultiBeast Features document or at http://www.multibeast.com/.

Hello,

I notice a strange thing in my case:

If I set Boot > Secure Mode > "Other OS" (like mentioned in the OT) then unibeast freezes as soon as I choose the main language or shortly after.
If I leave it to "Windows UEFI", then the install goes trough.

Now, once the system reboots (now on the SSD), it freezes...
I then need to switch to "Other OS" in order to boot (otherwise: KP)

?!?

Thoughts?

Best,
-a-

PS: my config is
i7 4790k
Z97-A (BIOS 1205 x64)
8GB DDR3 1600
120GB Kingston SSD
no GPU (iGPU HD4600), DP connection to the monitor
Let me know if one needs more info about it
