Who installed Yosemite successfully on a GA-Z97X-UD7 TH?

FYI - I also got past the kernel panics for the unibeast boot with these options:

-x maxmem=8192 npci=0x3000

I'll install and run multibeast next...

I have GTX 580 GPU. I could only boot from USB -x maxmem=4096 GraphicsEnabler=yes npci=0x2000 PCIRootUID=0. And I had to turn off Turbo boost in bios.

I have the following setup:

GA-Z97X-UD7 TH
4790K
GTX 660

And i can't seem to install yosemite, 10.9.5 works flawlessly.

I've tried updating from mavericks to yosemite, also tried a clean install.

Everytime i choose the installer in unibeast 5.01 it gives me a stop sign.
I've booted with -x -v -f, even with nv_disable=1

The same USB stick installed fine on my other system (z77x-d3h)

I removed the genericUSB kext and the two line for the kernel from the plist, like tonymacx mentioned in his update guide. that didn't help. I now restored the Extra folder, so i can at least boot back in mavericks.

Any help would be much appreciated...

I was getting the same thing try: -x maxmem=4096 GraphicsEnabler=yes npci=0x2000 PCIRootUID=0. And I had to turn off Turbo boost in bios, find it under CPU. I have GTX 580 GPU.

I installed Yosemite on this exact motherboard. The only boot flags I used were maxmem=4096, maxmem=8192 did not work. After that I used Multibeast to install the network, etc but I do recall that I used a 13,1 Mac definition.

Oh yes! I should mention that initially when I tried 10.10 I faced a maddening array of error message, then I switched to OSX mavericks and finally, after some prodding from people on the website, I tried 10.10.1 an that is when it all went smoothly.

It has been a while when I did this but installing 10.10.1 instead of 10.10 really changed things for me.

Good luck!

Okay I have been having many issues OS 10.10.1 with my GTX980. So reinstalled using just the HD4600 and it was extremely easy! I've included Multibeast file and the bios settings are ONLY load Optimized Defaults, disable VT-d, Set X.M.P Memory to profile 1 and disable Thunderbolt. Restart using Unibeast at the start use boot prompt -x nothing else. Install OS and run Multibeast - DONE! Just got my GTX 980 working also but HD4600 needs to be disabled for this.

Hope this help.

I have this same graphics card. Did you only need to disable the on-board graphics in bios, or was there more to it?

hi all i've the same mobo but i'haven't found a fix for my build, i'm currently using the last 10.10.2 on my z97x ud7 th but when i'm trying to power off it, the screen became black but the fans and the mobo are still running, i must power off it by button, i'm afraid to manage something more because i reformatted it already so many times with no success that only cause to me kp and i must restart to install osx again :( thanks in advance for your support!

What are the error messages you see? I am trying to install 10.10.2 on the same board, with no luck... I had it working at one point but it was extremely slow to boot and after trying to fix it I seem to have broken it all over again.

I have been going with this thread, however this one is for Mavericks, and the consensus seems to be that Mavericks is far easier, so I wonder if some of the information is outdated:

Perhaps if you show what your error message is, we can put our heads together and figure it out?

Hi everyone,

How's this combo (GA-Z97X-UD7 TH+10.10.2) working for you?

Pojoty: did you get your system up and running?
