Motherboard
ASUS Z97-A/3.1 with Thunderbolt card
CPU
i7 4790K
Graphics
Nvidia 750 Ti
Ive got the following.

Intel's i7 4790k
PNY GeForce GTX 750 Ti
4x8gb of G.Skill F3-1600C11D-16GNT
ASUS Z97-A mobo
EVGA supernova NEX650G 650W PSU
And a WD Black Dual Drive HD

Im using UniBeast to install and these instructions...

http://www.tonymacx86.com/yosemite-...y-supported-intel-based-pc.html#uefi_settings

I keep getting Panic of some sort, I tried using boot flags but am getting no where

I boot using single user mode and it says ...

"Refusing new kext com.apple.driver .AppleACPIPlatform, v3.1 : already have loaded v9.9."
"Cant load kext com.apple.driver.AppleACPIEC - link failed"
"Previous shutdown cause: 5"
"WARNING: IOPlatformPlugininUtil : getSPUIDInfo: this is an unknown CPU model 0x3c"
-- power management may be incomplete or unsupported
"DSMOS has arrived"

I have chosen to Load Optimized Defaults, VT-d disabled, CFG-Lock disabled, Secure Boot Mode wont let me disable it as it is greyed out, but I can change the OS type form Windows to Other OS

Can someone help me troubleshoot this?

try booting with -v nv_disable=1

try booting with -v nv_disable=1

I get...

"panic (cpu 4 caller 0xffffff800036fcc8): "a freed zone element has been modified in zone kalloc.64: expected 0xdeadbeefdeadbeef butfound 0xdeadbeef88098809, bits changed 0x56a436e6, at offset 48 of 64 in element 0xffffff803895ed00"

"Debugger called: <panic>
"Backtrace (CPU 4), Frame : Return address

Then some kernel information and other info

try maxmem=4096 as well.

Ok by removing the video card and removing 3 of the 4 8gb sticks. I got the OS to load completely, using no boot flags.

Weird though cause with the card and memory removed, It gets to the point where it usually stops, then the screen turns off then back on and the apple logo is no longer there. But im installing now, another 11 minutes remaining

It looks like the video card must be the problem. When I installed all the memmory back in everything was ok. When I install the video card back in with everything else, it has a panic about CPU caller and Failed to load kext com.apple.driver.

Anyone has any troubleshooting ideas for this or why it happens? This is the one I bought....

Ok so ill go into the BIOS and disable turbo boost and boot with those flags.
Do I turn it back on once the install is done and the card is in?
Uncheck generate CPU states when?

Do I turn turbo boost or generate CPU states back on after the install and video card is in, or leave those settings as is? And what are multi beast settings?

Thanks!!

hi,

in bios u disable Turbo boos technology ... maybe u can later try to set it at auto ( when i enable it " active) after install i got kernel panic ) but in auto or disable no problems.

uncheck generate cpu states at multi beast was a tip from the forum ... the 4790k has it own cpu states ... i also delete/ moved my nullcpupowermanagement kext after install ..just in case .. good luck
