Could someone please tell me what i'm doing wrong. I just cant make iMessage work.
Here is what i did:

- Copied the S/N into the Board Serial Number and added 5 letters to make it 17 chars long

- in RtVariables i set my en0 MAC Address as ROM and MLB the same as Board Serial Number
- set "Inject System ID" to true but left CustomUUID empty

When i disable "Inject System ID" in Clover iMessage Debug returns BoardSerialNumber: failure
Could this mean that my AppleID is blocked?
Please Help.

@quantumproject,

Do not fill MLB and Board Serial Number in clover configurator at the same time. use one or the other

If using CC's ID generator leave MLB blank ...

if using OSX S/N + random digits then always use MLB on RTVarables page and leave Board Serial Number blank in SMBIOS page.

Cheers
Jay

Thanks for the info but i have another question,

Do i have to change the last 12 digits of the SmUUID to my en0 MAC Address? I think i have read this somewhere... Also i have always thought that the SmUUID is the Hardware UUID in the System Profiler, but when i leave the Custom UUID in Clover blank it generates a random Hardware UUID and uses the SmUUID as the System ID (IOREG/iMessage Debug). On the other side when i enter a generated UUID as Custom UUID (System Parameters), SmUUID (SMBIOS) becomes the Hardware UUID (Profiler) and Custom UUID (System Parameters) the System ID (IOREG/iMessage Debug).

I pretty much gave up with iMessage since fixing it with following your guide and then everything reverted back with it not working. Now I'm thankful that I didn't clone or continue messing with something that worked perfectly.

I read your message today and gave it a try again. Worked perfectly again!!!

Thanks for all of your work

One more comment to my original post. I also did not use the dual authentication. I still have just the one password and everything worked just fine.

Thanks again!!

Hi Jay

I did resort to using clone id's just a few days ago. When I enter my old ID's I get a message "An error occurred during activation. Try Again." I have tried removing network.plist. I have tried removing all the plist files mentioned in the Guide. I have tried naming my ethernet en0. Nothing seems to get me past this message. As soon as I entered the clone ID's I get straight onto iMessage. Any suggestions? I'm using clover.

Happy Birthday. Sorry if I missed it and am too late

Cheers
Cameron

Generate new values and follow the guide from first character to the last. Dont skim, dont glance.

@All,

Happy iMessage times indeed .....

To those of you who refrained from going down the cloning of MLB & ROM values route ... well done your patience has been rewarded - although i'm just as surprised as everyone else at the complete u-turn Apple seems to have done. We can only speculate as to why but i suspect that the wide spread use of cloned values has caused Apple so much trouble that they have decided to remove the enhanced ID verification checks.

To those who are still having issues - do not use cloned values, if you have a backup of your config.plist or /extra folder from when iMessage was working then go back to using those ID values and try again.

If all else fails then read the main guide and follow each step, ensure S/N, SmUUID MLB & ROM are correct and persistent, AppleID is validated .. etc

I'll be working on the new release / layout of the guide for the next day or so.
But please keep the feed back rolling-in.

Finally thanks everyone for the birthday wishes - much appreciated.

Cheers
Jay

I didn't clone but I used 13 MLB instead of the 17 digit MLB. If i enable 2 factor authentication should I go back to a 17 digit MLB. Hmm. That would mean I would have to change my ROM and SN since they all have some common build values.

Nevermind:

Found my answer by reading. Ill stay where I am at for the time being unless there is a need to change it. Think Ill enable 2FA though.

Can anyone tell me how to manually inject a boardserialnumber ? it seems that its the only thing missing from my configuration.

Using chameleon 2570 and nvram 1.1.4

I give up. I think my Apple ID has been blocked and i might never get iMessage up and running :( :( :(

It's working great on both my hacks using the two step verification and app specific passwords.

Do you have an Apple device that can sign into iMessage? iPhone, iPad, iPod, anything...

@moemedimrtn

If you READ first post by JayMonkey, you wouldn't be asking those questions.
I am sure you got same answer as I said from InsanelyMac.
