Haswell-E + X99 Motherboard Temporary Guide - OS X 10.10

Which bootloader are you using? If you're using Chimera, you will have to edit your Boot.plist with the phrase:

Code:
<key>DropSSDT</key>
<string>Yes</string>

Or use Clover Configurator to load the SSDT if you are using Clover.

Then reboot, should take effect.

Thank you for your response. I am using clover configurator. If you would be so kind and just tell me how to load the SSDT, I would be very grateful. Again, I have never done this before...

Refer to Toleda's guide here: LINK

Ignore generating an SSDT, as one has been provided for you. Just follow the steps to enable SSDT use in Clover.

Thank you @InsaneCultist.

Perhaps you might have a better time asking questions about your CPU in that other thread. It appears to me as though the Rollback did not take or is not loading. I am using a 5820K CPU, and therefore have no firsthand knowledge of your issue, just what I have read others reporting. I wish you luck - I would first try re-applying the patch.

There is a really simply mistake I made when I tried to add the SSDT for my overclock. I forgot to rename the file from ManicHarmonic to "SSDT". He has separate files/names for each CPU type so make sure you pick the right one and rename it before you put it in the Clover folder.

Hi !

I'm building a new config which is almost working :

Gigabyte GA-X99-UD4
i7 5930K
32 GB ram
2 GTX 970 (one msi and one evga)
Gigabyte GC thunderbolt 2 add-in card
Apple Thunderbolt Display
Corsair 860w
yosemite 10.10.2

install with unibeast, chimera bootloader.
my multibeast config is the same as here :
http://www.tonymacx86.com/yosemite-desktop-guides/156626-success-i7-5820k-gtx-970-ga-x99-ud4-yosemite-10-10-x-full-temp-guide-100-working.html

My problem is that the boot only works 33% of time. Here is what I got when the boot works :
Sans titre.jpg

So, when it does not boot, it stops at two different lines random :
sometimes the last line is : NVDAGM100HAL loaded and registered
sometimes the last line is the same as on the picture, except that the boot fails just after.

I work on this hackintosh for many days and I'm close to succeed, but for now I 'm a little bit lost :(

Any help would be REALLY appreciated !

Thank you

Hello.
Im working on a x99m-gaming 5 / I7-5820k / Clover build. So I installed the generic usb kext that seems to be enabling speedstep. I did confirm it throttling down to 1.2ghz form the steady 3.4,3.6ghz. The only downside. It kills by pcie bcm94360cd Bluetooth. Any idea of what I can do to stop that? I tried installing the generic usb kext in S/L/E and Clover kext file. Same results. No usb for the Bluetooth.

Hi @InsaneCultist,

I took your advice and asked about my processor in the correct thread, however, the people who have actually had success seem to have abandoned the thread...or just haven't had time to respond in the last few days. I dunno, could be lots of reasons.

I guess the question I have, is do you, or does anyone know how to repair/verify permissions on a unibeast drive. There is a part in that 5960x guide that says it can be done with disk utility...I can't find a way to do it. I've tried some terminal commands as well, but they don't seem to do the job.

I've done a decent a bit of googling and it seems permissions can only be repaired on a bootable volume, the problem seems to be that OS X (on my Mac) doesn't view my Unibeast drive as a bootable volume. Any clues as how I might go about verifying/repairing? Seems to be a vital step, and the directions, as several other people in the thread have noted, simply aren't correct/don't work.

Is there a way I can go back and try 10.10.1? When I try to use Unibeast with a copy of 10.10.1 I have, it doesn't recognize it...it seems like people have had more success with 10.10.1. My other option seems to be using the 5820k.

Thank you!

Edit: Repaired permissions with KextWizard...still stuck in the exact same place. I think I've tried just about every combination of bootflags. Any ideas?

Remove the generic usb kext and disabled XHCI in bios...

Thx for responding.
yes, removing it will let my usb Bluetooth start working. Just wanted to try and use the generic usb and my Bluetooth and the same time. For the so called speedstep. But I ended up removing the kext. I don't mind waiting for proper PM.

I was also getting the KP on loading BT on my setup. Go to your BIOS and disable the Serial COM port. It should load the kext just fine after that is disabled.

Hey man,

Try targeting your installation USB with these commands:

a) touch /*target_drive*/System/Library/Extensions/
b) kextcache -update-volume /*target_drive*
c) kextcache -prelinked-kernel /*target_drive*/System/Library/Caches/com.apple.kext.caches/Startup/kernelcache -K /*target_drive*/System/Library/Kernels/kernel /*target_drive*/System/Library/Extensions

And then wait ~2 minutes at PCI config begin.

good hack
